A couple years ago, the wife got me a Wii and a 42" LCD for Xmas. I had my whole family over for a sweet Xmas meal. Which included "The Twins" (a couple of devil spawn 5 year olds at the time), who mananged to throw a Wii-mote through the screen. Thankfully the wife bought set at a Club Store that has a goof proff gaurantee. So merry times were still had by all.

My happiest holiday moment was back quite a few years ago. I remember it vividly. At christmas, my mom and dad got me a PS2 with Gran Turismo. 2 Days later, I went and sold it and got an Xbox with Halo.

BEST DECISION I EVER MADE.

Wow, you really should give me this stuff so I can give 'Hail to the Chimp' to Latin Trident as a Christmas gift... out of pity. Hehe, just teasing. You can have a sticker too.

My son will be going to the service in 2 months and it would be a great Xmas to have an Xbox again for the following reason.

We have had an Xbox 360 since it first came out. (My son and myself). We have hit hard times (as we all have) but we have had to sell alot of our belongings to get caught up on bills. We miss our Xbox terribly and found that was our bonding time. We have the best times when we play Halo together. We laugh our booties off and just have a wonderful time.
Laughter is the best medicine.

This is going to be a very difficult Xmas for me as my baby will be leaving home so this would be one of the most memorable one.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday Season!!!

Denise

Hey guys,

Meaningful gaming moments.
I think those who haven't grown up with video games are quick to typecast those who play them as individuals who are missing out on 'meaning', as they're too busy blasting the crap out of something. Although it's true video games allow for the opportunity to get sidetracked and lose focus of 'important things', it certainly depends on as much the individual playing the game.
I would argue that meaningful moments and video games are not mutually exclusive. Christmas time is one of the very few times my brother and I get to see each other, and along with doing all the great family stuff, hiking, playing music, joking, etc, I also get great enjoyment from being able to play 360 with him.
When we grew up, we both had an interest in the blooming industry of video game culture. We started with NES, and worked our way through SNES, N64, etc. There's something about having a brother as a teammate, or alternatively, a rival, in video games. There's a great sense of camaraderie in co-op, and an excellent sense of victory in versus. I don't get that sort of excitement with other friends, on XBL or otherwise.
So, although i look forward to Christmas for a great number of reasons, one in particular is being teamed up, or pitted against someone I know is getting the same amount of genuine enjoyment out of playing as I do. Not because of winning, or beating some game through to the end (although that's awesome), it's because we're getting to spend some quality time together, doing what we've done since we were little, and still deriving so much fun from it.

Thanks!

One holiday, my whole family decided to play some nice family party games on my 360, and they are usually not the gaming type. It was a pretty damn good day.
