Well, it looks like we won't be reading Killzone 2's manual. Posting on the official US PlayStation forums, Seb Downie, QA Manager for developer Guerrilla Games, confirmed that the PlayStation 3's highly anticipated first-person shooter will not delay the action by installing content to the hard drive first. Sez Seb: "No install. Optional or otherwise."
Killzone 2, which is currently undergoing online beta testing, is due for release in February 2009.

Oh, alright then!
I only have Resistance for my PS3 so I didn't know this is how it worked.
I should get uncharted, but I have no money left lol. Clothes and video games.

lol I have no money left for games anyway. 30 or 60 doesn't make a difference haha.
It's Winter and I had no Winter clothes. Sweaters and Jackets can get pretty expensive. That and the economic crunch we are in, I have no idea how people can afford so many games, or even have time to play them all.

I hope this game don't suck they have a lot and I mean a lot to live up too. ( I still remember the first "ingame" trailer that make everybody crap their pants)

I'm not really excited for the game itself (Too many shooters omg), but I'm kind of excited for how good the graphics will be if they do indeed live up to that introduction. Not that I would purchase/praise the game simply for graphics, but It would really be like the pinnacle of in-game graphics for this generation.

IMO, Halo 3 exceeded the hype. It's one of my favourite games ever, and I'm still playing it regularly. Even if KZ2 also lives up to its imense hype, it's still going to be critisesed, simply because of it's popularity.
It's fairly obvious that 90% of the negative posts you see about Halo, are from people who've never even played the game.

People bitch about installs in games and now that a big app game isn't going to use it, I bet people are going to find a new way to bitch about a game NOT having an install. Seems people are haters in this world.

True, but that's just the way it goes. There's always going to be something people find to bitch & moan about.

How long are the load times going to be? That and how often they force you to load?

That's pretty good then! Sure I don't have a ps3, but it shows that crazy cool games don't require it - I say this because Killzone 2 looks incredible, beats the at least the visuals from every other game that has required an install.
Kudos, someone buy me a ps3 or make the ps3 have a large price cut for when it comes out =3

Though technically, if it streams it does kinda require an install (by stretching the definition). Like it would require an hdd. Just good that every sku has one.

Posted this on another community forum where I am a contributor. I just wanted to let everyone know that I won't be coming here for the immiediate future if ever again. I will be spending all of my time either at work, with my family or at the hospital.
_____________________________________________________________
I got some rather devistating news tonight after I got off work.
I am taking an indefinite leave because of a very private and personal family issue. There is not much more for me to say about it other than that . All I would ask for everyone to do is keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. It's been great being a part of this community and I wish you all nothing but the best. When/If everything gets back to normal I will rejoin this community as a forum contributor.
Thanks
The same goes for Joystiq. I wish ALL of you the best and though some of us have had our differences I wish you all nothing but health and happiness. Sometimes we tend to lose sight of everyday things. I have allot to be thankful for and I need to be there for my fiance & kids right now. Thank You.
God Bless.

Damn... sorry. I was wondering why you weren't online with SFII this evening. I just figured you were busy and didn't think anything about it, but then I ran across this post before heading to bed. Whatever it is, I hope things improve for you soon. Hope to see you on PSN in the future.

I don't post here much anymore, but I do still read the comments, and it's always sad when someone who contributes a quite a bit has to suddenly leave. You have to do what you must, and I pray that God will see both you and your family through these tough times, and provide you with the strength and hope to persevere.
God Bless You and Yours

On the subject of controllers, the Xbox controller owns in my opinion. Doesn't matter what you play, it's good. Sony needs to wise up and move the analog sticks so they can be on par with the feel of the Xbox controller. I'm not saying for them to copy MS, but it would help if they were somewhere near a spot that would let my thumbs bend in a natural way.

How did the comments derail from there being no installs, to "this game kills this game" useless chatter?
Back on topic: Good thing Sony first party games don't need installs. My 40gb was getting kind of full, though i only own like 3 games with installs, so not really bad.

I have a PS3 as well as 360, Wii, etc. The prob with the PS3 controller is not the placement of sticks as much as the HEIGHT in comparison to the 360. You tend to go overcentre more quickly [time/distance yadda] with the PS3 than the lower and slower 360. Hence control is touchier. Or something like that-doi!

Well.. that's good, but wont load times be somewhat.. massive? I mean the game is huge(visually, hardware pushing, and space wise)
