Bethesda has announced three downloadable content packs headed to the 360 version of Fallout 3. The first to be released will be "Operation Anchorage," which allows players to take part in a "military simulation" of the "the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders." Operation Anchorage is scheduled to release in January. In February, Bethesda plans to release "The Pitt," in which players can explore the ruins of Pittsburgh, which have become home to raiders. The last pack to release will be "Broken Steel," in which players join the Brotherhood of Steel in order to "rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all." Broken Steel is scheduled for a March release.
No pricing details have been revealed at this time.

Thanks I can't wait. I probably wont be close to finishing the main game and all side missions by the time the first DLC is released.
The GTA creators should take not and not release their content after the game has been played to death and sitting on the shelf.

I would facepalm but that would be fighting an obvious joke with a tired meme.

This is awesome news. I'm nowhere near close to finishing Fallout 3, but once I clear out a few of the games I have on the go I'll get back to it. It's nice to see the new content is coming out fairly quickly too...

That's awesome, I'm still DEEPLY enjoying my Fallout 3 experience, still on first playthrough. Taking my sweet time.
I'm confused though, new worlds or new additions to the existing map? I'm guessing the Alaska and Pitt ones are different maps, but geez, how is that even possible for them to make a whole new map in such a short amount of time (let alone new characters, missions, dialogue)? It took them so long to make just the game. I know nothing about programming obviously, enlighten me if you can, thanks.

The secret is they've been working on DLC long before the game was even out.

Gotcha, makes sense. Just seems like such an undertaking to me. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

Nobody does DLC like Bethesda. We can (and apparently will) joke about horse armor until the end of days but Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles were jawdroppingly good. A whole league above the competition.
This is going to be epic. I can't wait. Intriguing concepts too. The Pitt sounds like it could be a whole sequel, let alone a simple add on.

The DLC is more than I could have asked for with this game. I cant even see myself getting tired of this one ever. More than makes up for the new GTA's lack of replayability.

Hoping to have finished my first mega run through by the end of the month, and now this DLC news leaves me wondering what I'm going to do.
I was planning to sell it off, anyone else in a similar situation? I don't see the DLC being revolutionary. Hmm.

I'm surprised there's no mention of the fact that "Broken Steel" takes place after the main quest. Whether that means the game no longer ends or changes to the level cap, who knows.

Now this is dlc i can get excited about! I've exhausted much of the fun of the main game but didn't *really* want to say goodbye to that world again just yet, good timing with the dlc!

I already sold it . I reached level 20 and lost interest. RPGs are just not as much fun without leveling.

Yeah I dont understand how an RPG can have a lvl cap that is reached before even half the quests are done.

As an Alaskan, I welcome our new Chinese overlords.
Seriously though, I'm going to get killed over and over again because I'll be too busy blowing up Anchorage landmarks to bother with the Chinese.

How is this going to work for the people who beat the game though, my guy is already dead. Or will we be playing/making as a different person this time. If its the latter, do you think we'll have to regain all of the level ups, perks, xp etc? Ugh...I hate playing as the good guy.
P.S. Spoilers above lol

This is cool news, I was thinking of picking up this game, so I might wait until January. Gives me time to play through Tales of Vesperia a 2nd time.

***MILD SPOILER ALERT***
So I finished the main quest of the game, and much to my surprise (due to my experience with Oblivion and the previous Fallout games) and disgust THE GAME ENDED! What the hell Bethesda?!
The only reason I blew through the main quest was so that I didn't have to worry about it anymore and I could just wander around doing the side quests at my leisure. I LOVE the concept of DLC like Oblivion's Shivering Isles, but how am I supposed to enjoy it with my character dead? Yeah I have a few previous saves from just before I finished the main quest, but thats lame to have to revert to those.
Has anyone heard anything about the DLC patching the game's ending or level cap?

*SPOILER*
YAY!!! DLC, I'm so excited! I hope it's like Shivering Isles. And for Operation Anchorage, I hope you can take the items you get in there out of the simulation. I've beaten the game 3 times now and now i just wander around making my guy a badass. They need to patch the ending though. pissed off when my guy died and need to make a new guy to do the side quests. but now I just don't do the last quest. and seriously, why a level cap???

I think the third one will add a few more missions but hopefully it will add an endgame stage, I honestly don't give a shit about continuity if all the water is still irradiated so what?
