Not content with the real celebrities we featured last week, GamesRadar has taken it upon themselves to turn some of your favorite TV, music and movie celebrities into Avatars without their consent. Honestly, there ought to be a law.
Though their Niko Bellic is great and their Sarah Palin is spot-on, we have to admit to having a soft spot in our heart for sad, broken-down Mario. You think that's how he looked when they pitched him on Mario Super Curling?

The clothing packs - at least most of them, are going to be free. And frankly, I wouldn't mind paying a little, if it meant more options for the Mii's.
But seriously, Nintendo did not invent avatars. The 360 used gamerpics before any of the other console, which is likely why Nintendo came up with the idea to use a 3D version of that, which Microsoft and Yahoo have been doing for Messenger programs and Face Book for years.
Nintendo was actually sued over the Mii's because they were so similar to the "WeeMee's" you can use on messenger programs.

Out of all them Nico looks the closest to its avatar lookalike. The rest.. eehhh... kinda, the clothes options kills it though, especially on Kratos.

Mario The Plumber is my favourite in a sad puppy kind of way. I bet he's thinking something along the lines of 'The Princess, she's in another castle, isn't a-she?' while someone in the background is shouting 'C'mon! Those toilets ain't gonna unblock themselves and I need to use them!'

"What's so great about him?"
NOTHING! They should have used my Avatar as the pic for the story like my good friends at X3F.com
-Chuck Norris

Fun Fact: Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.
Seriously though, Dante. I dont get it either.

What's so great about him? Why, he cynically mocks conservatives! It's not like you see that in any form of media. He's breaking new ground!

Colbert is good entertainment. The catch is that in order to get the most out of it one has to, on some level, buy into the idea that Stephen Colbert is very awesome. Which is fine with me, but also explains why some people dislike him or don't get the phenomenon.

I'm sorry, but that is pathetic compared to the Wii. Why no ability to move around and scale facial features?

I like how, now that Microsoft has implemented avatars we get to have the exact same headlines we had two years ago about Miis.

Microsoft is doing great at showing people how good miis are. That is to say, you don't realize how good Miis are until you use microsoft's avatars.
Man, blatantly ripping of the miis like this seems like such a desperate move. You'd think they'd try to do something distinctly Microsoft or play to their strengths or something. Instead they shit out a bland vanilla version of what Nintendo's doing.

Nobody is claiming Nintendo or Microsoft invented the idea of avatars (how old is the word avatar?) but you cant possibly think if it wasn't for Nintendo and the way they integrated Miis into their console and games that Microsoft would ever in a million years think of doing it.
