Video: Be taken away by the Mirror's Edge theme
33
As up in the air people's opinons of Mirror's Edge's gameplay is, one game aspect that most everyone can agree is superbly amazing is the theme song. Sung by Swedish rocker Lisa Miskovsky, the Mirror's Edge "Still Alive" theme music is so delightful to the ear drum that we've heard it be accurately compared to angels singing a broadway symphony. You know, hardcore gaming angels on a l33t broadway stage of death. Check out the official "Still Alive" video embedded above and let yourself be taken away ...

There is a Paul Van Dyk remix of this song which is also very nice on the ear drums.

Well, everything except her crooked teeth. So crooked they're throwing up gang signs!

Is anyone else reminded of Dreamfall when they hear this song?
And as good as this song is, it's hard to top GlAdOS!

I never noticed it had lyrics to start with (in the game) seemed so repetitive on this video though..
there's only one & half thing.. the really dire AI.. it doesn't act or react the way it should. I played through with out firing a weopon, the way I felt it should be played.. I just felt DICE got bored a couple of levels it and wanted to make another rubbish shooter

This is just what I was going to say... i think they *did* use this song in one of the trailers or the early gameplay videos... seems like I read something about them having trouble getting a license... the author pulled out or something.
Well yeah... check out Alcorus - Shine -- good song. I guess this one here (Still Alive) is ok too, but definitely borrows heavily from A-S.

I thought it was the case that Alcorus initially claimed to have written it, which was strenuously denied by DICE and EA, and then it seemed that it was probably just fan-made rearrangement...
Let's face it, the Alcorus - Shine track has unbelievably cheap production and sounds more like a demo than anything. It may be that this was the inspiration for the theme, only time will tell, but anyone saying that Alcorus' version was the one used in the gameplay trailers needs their ears examining. Completely different productions and arrangements...
It's officially written and produced by Arnthor Birgisson and Rami Yacoub of the Maratone writing and production team in Sweden (who have also worked on tracks by Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Pink and Westlife), who have worked with Lisa Miskovsky in the past.

It's a decent song. I wouldn't listen to it, personally.

This was (hardly) a triumph
I'm making a note here, "Huge success (not really)"
It's (not that) hard to overstate my satisfaction
...continue on in this fashion until you feel you've made your point.

Video was kinda lame. Great song though. Sexy singer too. She looks better in jeans... or without them.
