This is it folks. After a long, long wait, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is finally here. If you've been waiting for the game to finally release, chances are that you don't really need this episode of XBLA in Brief to sway you one way or the other. Still, we've pledged ourselves to provide this service and, dang it, that's what we intend to do. Check out the latest episode and ponder with us just why (oh why) Capcom decided to remove any kind of CPU controlled opponents from the trial version.

...but I'm only interested in fighting the single player modes.. & if it's actually playable, without weeks of practice just to beat the single player tournament.. not like Hyper Fighting.. which kicks my a...
I thought it was kind of goofy that you couldn't play against an AI opponent too. No one else is home, so I had to set up a second controller and just wail on Ken... lol.
I might be the odd one out here, but I really REALLY wish they brought out SFIII:3S instead of SSFII:T. Way more balance and depth. Plus the competitive community is WAY more into that than SFII.
The anniversary collection of Street fighter for the Xbox has 3rd Strike on it, and is playable on xbox live. Capcom Probably doesn't want to reprogram it for download or something. Now all I need is Marvel Vs. Capcom 1!
I think a lot of people wanted that... I believe they commented on it and the reasoning was that it was just that Third Strike was just way too much to take on as a first project.
After seeing how long this took, I can't imagine how long TS would have taken.
Yeah, I could see that as being a decent reason. I notced that between just Ken and Ryu in the trial, there were some gameplay changes made. Subtle, but there.
I mean, it's one thing to get the hit boxes and timing for all the characters and moves right, but then you add in the parrying system and the impeccable balance maintenance and you run into some serious issues. I forgive them
Even with the NXE, XBCs STILL can't use the guide. I don't get it. If the warning can use the guide engine to appear, why can't I use it?
Im new too street fighter. I first decided to delve into the fighting genre with SCIV... and boy what a mistake. That game took no skill, a parapalegic monkey could beat people in that game because of the button mashing, don't get me wrong I do like that game.
But, after playing street fighter for about 2 hours online, I have not versed one cheap ass button mashing spammer because it jus doesn't work, so it seems sf2 actually requires thinking, skill and strategy, which makes me really interested in this series now and I can't wait till SFIV.
The trial game, however, is ridiculous! Local player only? no AI? I mean I almost didint buy the game cause of it, glad I did though, don't let the horribly limited trial game keep you from buying a great game with a great community
phew, now that that's off my chest, back to training with Cammy :)

Same, I haven't seen a single button masher on SF2 and I've only played friendly matches up to this point (since I never did get into any of the old Street Fighter 2 games). I have had a few funny fireball spam moments, where my opponent and I would spam Hadokens until one of us messed up . . .
Anyone here using a good arcade stick? I'm thinking of just building my own but if you all have good recommendations...
And I am so loving this game. I commented in another thread how I was going to wait for a review before purchasing. Here's what really went down:
I read on kota-... another gaming site that HD Remix was available for download. I played some Left 4 Dead, going back to the Xbox Guide after each chapter to see if the game had been released yet. Fell aslepe, woke up, started the (fairly long for an XBL game) download, getting the trial version of course.
I watched the intro.
Looked at the options, saw that they had changeable DIP Switches like in the arcades (or your nearest emulator) and.... before even playing a match, I hit purchase.
Didn't wait for a review, didn't even try the trial. And here I am, 5 hours of intense local versus play later, wiped out. That game is incredible. It really took me back to being 8 years old when that game first hit the US. I can't say enough about it... What a fine, fine job the team over there did on this game.
Who knows if Capcom reads this board or not, but I can't go without saying it: THANK YOU.
And thank you X3F for keeping us all so up-to-date on this game and its many updates.
Any arcade fighting stick made by Hori (japan) would be good enough to bring the pain. But nothing beats a taylor made custom thats just right for you ;).
marvel vs capcom 1 on xbla is the way forward after playing this.....i'm not even askin for a HD remix jus MvsC in its purest form would put beaming smile on my face and a little bit of change in the pocket of microsoft
