Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is launching "Get in the Game" tonight, a project which will offer five hopeful developers a chance to make content on the PlayStation Network. Ultimately, five creative teams will be chosen to receive GBP 10,000 each to prototype their ideas over the first three months of 2009. If good enough, these prototypes may be realized as games for release on PS3.
SCEE will be holding a free workshop in December to give developers better insight into what makes a PlayStation Network title.

Whether or not XNA games are shovelware isn't the point. The point is that once again Sony has attempted to improve their lame network by copying something already done on the Xbox.
BTW, this isn't so much copying XNA as it is copying Microsoft's annual Dream Build Play contest.

Hey fantrolls.
Sony has been doing this since the freaking PS1, yeah that's right. The ONE. Sony has been doing this with Net Yaroze, a PS1 dev kit that ordinary people were able to buy and make games for, and the good ones Sony would publish themselves.
They did it again with PS2's Linux kit.
And even with PSP.
This is NOT a copy of XNA in ANY way. Do some research before fantrolling. XNA is a copy of Sony's works.

This is NOT the first time Sony's done this. In every of their many facets they've lent a hand in different competitions to small groups.
M$ recieved the idea from the fact that many companies (Sony included) have done this in their field to brew up interest and talent. So no one ripped the idea from another, it's been happening for years upon years you XBot.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww...
Paper notes.
When will the world ever catch up & use POLYMER money like us Aussies do??...
It doesn't rip. Creases. It's waterproof. Virtually impossible to counterfeit...
Lasts longer! (less money spent on recreating them!)

We (in the US) do use plastic money already, it's called ATM cards or credit cards. Using cash seems really old fashioned to many people, and there are only a few instances where it's necessary. The local weed dealer still doesn't accept credit cards.

this reminds me of deviantART offering $2000 rewards for the re design of their logo: so much cheaper than hiring a real professional to do it, ultimately saving the Sony cash, and ripping their customers off at the same time. Any corporations dream!!
