LBP and a second playthrough in Valkyria Chronicles.

I will also probably start chipping away at Homeworld 2 and Company of Heros.

I'm also thinking about starting up Left 4 Dead later in the week on PC. The hype is to strong to resist

The thing dissuading me is that I keep hearing the online aspect of things is the best part of it, which is better with friends.

I only have a few pals I see online often, so, eh, will just wait till I can pick it up cheap used at some point.

The same goes for me. I have four friends who game on the PC, two of which play on a regular basis... and those two pirate their games. So I'm a bit SOL when it comes to playing with buddies.

I can generally get along well enough on my own though and I want to play L4D just to see the kinds of crazy scenarios that the game seems to generate.

Granted, this game is more fun with friends, but IMO despite what you hear from others it is still a fun experience going through the campaign solo. You just need to start on a higher difficulty than Normal to make it more interesting.

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, is so damn fun right now. I'm almost scared that the game might be a novelty or something so I'm trying to play it less to allow myself to have a balance of large amounts of fun over a long period of time.

Also, am I the only one who has like Fable 1 more than Fable 2? I find there are just some things the first one did better... perhaps I'm clinging to the old (which is weird considering the above paragraph)

I have beating L4D on adv many times, and now, to my simultaneous amusement and horror, I am trying for the "What's Wrong With You?" Achievement.

Death Toll is done. Almost had No Mercy today, but had to leave for work.

Ubiq and other solid teamplayers hit me up on XBL: guidedbyVOIP

Cheers!

Dead Space was a lot of fun. And to reiterate it wasn't scary, but it was one thing for sure...TENSE! It holds tension very well. Have fun with it. I'll probably be needing to go back into it for another round. Like RE4, you can have a second play-through with all the weapons and armor you've upgraded...and money.

When your doing the "sum of all zeros" trophies (if your not already doing it), you need to get used to aiming ahead of the plains, then you can start racking up the kills pretty fast.I think I ended with 49 kills.

Also, don't try to save any of the survivors.

The spotlight can be taken out in one pass when your attacking the three ships during the first half of the level, although you get three opportunities total... I think. Take out the patrol boats quickly by using the primary and alt fire of the front turret at the same time, during the first run. Then focus on the spotlights. I'm not sure if you need to shoot at the light, or if you can destroy them by shooting in say, the back (hope that made sense). Also I can't remember if there are three of six spotlights, but they are only located at the front and rear of each ship.

The first mission is the easiest way to get the Kamikaze trophy. Your guys will do most of the work for you. Just figure out where the spawn triggers are. After you've spawned a wave, find some cover and give your buddies a chance to kill some of the enemies. Then move forward slightly. The friendly AI will advance as long as you advance, so if you see that some of your friends aren't doing anything while there are enemies around, move forward a bit and see what happens. Basically all you need to do is wait around until your buddies have taken out most of the enemies. Then you can mop up with grenades and knives.

I killed about six of eight guys with a knife, and maybe three with grenades.

When your at the end of the level, you can run from the truck to the bunker to the boat without getting killed.

The Sum of All Zero's is hard as crap.

Trophies are supposed to be associated with the difficulty of the task. So say, a bronze trophy might be unlocked for saving an AI buddy, a silver might be unlocked for killing 45 zeros and a gold trophy might be unlocked for completing a mission on the hardest difficulty level. The Platinum trophy is unlocked for getting all the other trophies.

I would guess they roughly correlate to the number of points you would get for an achievement... although its been a while since I've seen how many points a achievements are worth.

Coming from someone who owns both the Limited Edition versions of Gears of War I find it hard to think, but I'm actually having an overall better time playing Left 4 Dead than I am Gears. I don't know if I should be saddened by this or happy that I have a game that I like more. The Gears story didn't move me, and Horde is fun, and can be crazy at times, but the pacing and frenzy of L4D just has something about it that no other games have had before.

This and the LOTRO: Mines of Moria expansion are consuming all my free time.

Happy Thanksgiving to me.

Both for both. Horde mode I pretty much always have at least one or two other friends I'm playing with. Campaign I've gone through primarily by myself, but I did do co-op for Gears 1. Though I think L4D is strong either way.

I just wasn't as engaged in Gears as I'd hoped I'd be. Horde is good though, but L4D is fun for me single player or with friends, primarily I feel for its unpredictable nature.

So what do you think? I kind of liked Secret Rings, but at the same time it felt like it came up really short. I know Wiinterfang has been painting the town red saying how great the game is, but what're your thoughts? I'd consider buying it at some point.

virtues outweigh the problems in terms of gameplay. One of the problems is cheapo deaths. The kinda death where you were too far to the right when you hit a boost panel, so you fall over the edge, or you overshoot or undershoot a jump

Controls could be tightened considerably, imo, but the speed stages really capture the same thrill that Secret Rings did. You have to think on your feet, and often learn by error

the werehog stages are fun. Simple as a brawler, with a very basic combo system, but it is fun in its simplicity, and the werehog portions have fun platforming elements all their own.

Really, it's just the cheapo deaths that will drag the game down, aside from the bogus story. Otherwise its great, with all the thrills that made Sonic great
