This is the thing i hate about sony, why dont we have a unified PSN, or atleast a website.

Because if they advertise a game on the main page that comes in 2009 in Europe, it won't be much useful to European customers. I think the web sites can be separated, no issue there. PSN features on the sites need to be unified.

This is an idea I have wanted for a while. We need a unified website and unified PSN Store. However, Albanian_Killa has a good point, so hear me out on this...

Let's take the PSN Store for example. You go and it looks the same, but somewhere on the store (maybe Settings) and you say what region you want to access. You're given a warning saying that content from another region may possibly not work (Ex: EU LBP DLC won't work with NA LBP disc, vice versa, etc.), but then, you can access that store. No need for fake accounts just for free demos. Same with the website. Everyone has the same PSN ID cards for websites, but the site's homepage and other non-PSN features could be region-specific, though that could be switched too (by, for example, simply switching us.play... to eu.play..., etc.).

What do you think? Possible? Likely?

Edit: I guess it's not just wishful thinking. Thanks to the fact that the EU PS site now requires you to login only through your PSN username, that IS true. Already finished up my new icon. :)

Why the hell are they different?

Sony is really, really, really beginning to annoy me.

I have no problems waiting, trophys, in-game xmb, Home etc. but why can't they at least UNIFY ANYTHING?

Christ, they don't seem to get it sometimes. Though I will forgive them when Killzone 2 is in my hands.

And why do the SCEA ones look like ass?

american gamers are so stupid... they're wailing over this.

an official, autogenerated signature for the web WOW..........
Is not getting that REALLY a shaft to you? Maybe you should go ask the europeans what THEY'RE missing... and once you see what they're missing, try to guess what this NEAR useless piece of crap really is!

The fact that North American gamers (I can say this because I'm Canadian) seem to care SOOO much about this kind of unimportant crap is the reason why they shovel money into services like XboX Live and are fooled into buying a 360 in the first place. I mean, unless you never had a PS2 (Who didn't!) I can see why you might want to go to a store and throw away money at an endless supply of video games. But this is the NEXT Generation. Shouldn't the games be SPECIAL now? (
Halo 3????????????? no
Gears of War 2????????????????????? i said SPECIAL....
MGS4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MMMMMMFYES!!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!
)

Most North Americans LOVE garbage. Thats why they have 360s, play Halo, and pay for internet access (lol not even) on their console.... TWICE (once to get the internet, and again, to get the internet by microsoft... that would turn most sane people away... not idiotic americans and their mimic style teenage Canadian friends. That is XboX Live...)

but really stop whining north americans... gee oh dee...

this reply is based on aaronp's reply on page 1. and is to anyone else who really generally says the SAME thing as him.

Um... there are about half of the amount of 360s in EU as the ps3 there and in Canada the 360 is winning. So your statement "North American gamers are stupid" doesn't really make sense unless you say that Canadian and EU gamers are stupid too. People have prefrences and most people follow under peer pressure ex. "I'm gonna get an Xbox because i can play with my friends." Some people just like the community features of Live. We all know its better. Some people like a more reliable console, but making a complete generalization that NA gamers are stupid is absolutely false.

@ Flame,

Allow me to simplify;

North Americans are whining of the LACK of PS3 Gamer Tags.
They're idiots! XBoX Live using idiots. Peer pressure? Sounds like an idiot's reasoning.

EU has less 360: I know this yet it has nothing to do with anything.

Canada has MORE PS3. I'm pretty sure Canadians have more 360s but even to say there were more PS3's in Canada wouldn't matter.

In the end USA the far more populous nation is swimming in the XBoX 360. This is due to poor marketting on Sony's part and media/heresay making everyone's choices. The PS3 had a slow start. Gamers are stupid and live in the here and now. Oh look 360. End of story.

I live in America. I have a PS3. I love Sony products, and especially due to news reports of the 360 breaking down in various ways, I will not buy an Xbox 360.

But to say that all Americans are dumb because the Xbox 360 is popular here makes you look like a complete idiot. Though I don't like the quality of how the 360 is built, I can admit that the quality of the services and games are very good. I still have my bias that the PS3 exceeds in a few ways, yet I'm still realistic and can say that there are areas in which the 360 is better. I'm not a closed-minded Internet troll.

Also, just because someone makes a dumb comment on a blog entry doesn't make all Americans stupid. But if comments DID have that power, then your comment's display of ignorance actually makes aaronp's comment look sane. His comment COULD look like it was just satire or sarcasm, making fun of people who actually think that way, but your comment is nothing but rude in every way. Yes, he was wrong, but that's all you needed to say.

tbh its bout time eu gt something back i mean we get delays on many games which we wait for, its a shame because if a console is multi regional it deserves the same release for all games.... but at the end of the day the europe side has generally got the short straw so they deserve this small victory for once

I'm going to have to be with Ty, partly anyway, on this one. Ty's comment didn't target ALL Americans at all. That's like saying Girls wear pink. Of course not ALL girls wear pink but a lot of them do!

So I'm Canadian too (High five! Let's go play hockey huh huh) and while there may be more 360s than PS3 and probably more Wii's than there are children in the country is not the point either. It's all a matter of perspective and relative terms. If you think about it New York City and Los Angeles (Including the metro areas) have almost as much population as my beloved country. In general terms, the US population influences (drive even?) the consumer economy (to the ground now haha! - I kid, I kid) and consumer trends and whatever sales statistics, user rates will reflect back to the American people.

I don't think Ty was trying to be politically correct in the words that he chose and that is why I agree with his opinions.

This ID thing is pretty lame because it's far too obviously free advertising masquerading as user content. 'Favourite Game' is basically; select one of our small, select, PS3 titles, and we'll plaster it on your ID in a non-contextual manner which prompts further investigation and/or curiosity.

Uhh yeah.

Call me when it actually serves a purpose for moi.
