My PC:

- More Powerful then the 360
- More Available games then 360 (think anything (flash, windoz, etc. etc.))
- More customizable (mods)
- Has free online (not mmos)
- Has the more accurate key+mouse setup.

My 360:

- Has all games that use the more comfortable controller
- Has access to a 32" 1080p tv.
- Has all my friends.
- Has the quick and easy abillity to have up to four players.
- Has hilarious little 12 year olds who have the mouths of 49-year-old sailors.

Come on? Why would I go with pc?

TO ALL THE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT HOW PC GAMING MIGHT BE DYING OR WILL DIE! read the article posted on big download. They say there's actually more money in pc gaming, bigger communities, an we don't all just have add an skip to the next game in 6 months. it also says games actually sell more when they hit the pc..even with piracy!! don't believe me,go read it! pc gaming is just as strong as ever. consoles are actually far behind from reaching the pc level. DEAL WITH IT!

Don't Xbox games get superior PC ports all the time? What's the point of even buying a Xbox when all the games that define the console can be found on the PC for cheaper, with free online, and level of customisation a Xbox user will never see.

New logline: Xbox: home of diminishing exclusives, home of diminishing potential.

The ports usually come out a while after the original game, and I don't know about you but I like playing my games when they come out. But yeah....since I've got myself a really good PC my 360 is looking a little sad. I also prefer online gaming on my 360. More people on PC are getting headsets but it still forms a small majority and I usually can't be arsed to plug mine in.

Don't worry, everyone else already thinks pc gamers are smug elitist bastards anyways.

Anyways it really doesn't bother me if PC gamers get the game. And besides, as a 360 user I get to play the game first instead of waiting months until the pc release.

Just as a further point, you say how the games being ported to the PC diminishes the value of the Xbox....um, what about the PC itself? There are very few decent PC games that aren't on the Xbox. And if you're not into MMORPG's/RTS's then there's barely a single one. (Waits for post listing all the good recent PC games I've forgotten :P)

There are many 360 games that have come to the PC which has diminished the value of the 360 to me. Mod support is a big plus for the PC side, especially with the Garden of Eden Creation Kit for mod support coming to the PC version of Fallout 3. : )

Sadly, several games that come to PC aren't optimized for its hardware and can be very buggy as well, I've heard these stories of Gears 1 for the PC but my brother who plays the game frequently says they have been reduced.

PCs and consoles have their own respective advantages and disadvantages and their respective owners and fanboys are happy with what they have to offer.

Of course gaming PCs cost several times more than a console. However, they are not used just for games. I'm thinking of building a $1100 PC but won't use it just for gaming, I will also use it for video editing, running virtual machines, music encoding, running productivity software, etc. So its value is increased.

sigh, why are you once again talking in behalf of everyone?

Bowser,

"Don't Xbox games get superior PC ports all the time?"

Not always, there are often times that PC owners get screwed.

For example, UT3 suffered from an interface that was made with console gaming in mind..

but despite the many pros and cons when it comes to 360 to PC ports, the main advantage is the fact that you don't have to pay for online multiplayer

Sigh.. there is no reason to disparage PC gaming.. I own an X360 and a PS3 and like them both. But there's some games that you just can't get on a console. So I bought an $80 ATI HD4670.. yeah.. $80 whole dollars to complement my 2 year old Athlon 64 PC. Plays games fine, mostly on high settings at 1280x1024.. and didnt cost much at all. About as much as one console game and some DLC for it. Just a few of the games STALKER, NWN 2, Gothic 3, Titan Quest, The Witcher.. I'm sure I could think of more given a second, Crysis...

Dragon Age will be coming to PC first, and I'm not totally sold on how good the interface will be for the X360 version..

There are still reasons not to abandon PC gaming, especially when so little money can get you a good experience, contrary to what many say. Everyone posting here has a PC I'm sure, and the 4670 is a good card. All you need is a PCI-E x16 slot. Doesn't even require external power.. I'm using it in a shuttle with a 250W PSU with no probs.

Lol, well put.

Seriously though, I think most consle gamers feel this way. I have zero interest, well beyond zero interest, in ever touching a PC for gaming ever again. I couldn't stay off the damn thing back in the heyday (hay? hey?) of Sierra, but nowadays I just can't imagine doing it ever again.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong or lame about it, that's just me personally, and I imagine most console gamers are the same way.

You really think that Blizzard alone is drawing console masses in? I sure don't. Just an opinion, obviously, I don't have any sort of proof behind me. But I really doubt Blizzard is drawing in people that weren't already PC gaming enthusiasts in the first place.

It's weird, I actually couldn't imagine playing an immersive game like Fallout 3 or Half-Life 2 on a console.

Whilst I played the last-generation trilogy of GTA's on PC and got heavily involved in them (and knew the cities like the back of my hand), with GTA4 on PS3 I didn't feel connected to the story, the gameplay or the environment.

Some games are best on console, my examples being sports, racing, hack n' slash and platforming games. But as a shooter fan who enjoys getting involved with games I just can't enjoy things like Resistance and have no interest in Killzone 2.

uh, WoW was never the preferred MMO of PC enthusiasts, actually, one of the reasons why it is commonly praised is because of its availability to draw the casual crowd.

Blizzard on latter years has been trying to appeal to the casual, but they are still holding the PC gaming crowd (or at least theirs) not only making solid games with tons of replayability, but also by showing a lot of support (recently they released a patch for Star Craft, lol)

Seriously, you don't really believe that Blizzard is one of the last, if not the last, great bastions of PC gaming?

"They didn't stop me from playing console games and sure as hell didn't get me playing other pc games"

What? so now we can't have both console and pc gaming?

Oh, and believe that when SC2 and Diablo 3 get released, there will be a hell lot of people putting their controllers aside

That may be true, but the only people who care at all about those games are PC gamers alreay, dumpling.

I certainly wouldn't ever suggest that we can't have both console and PC gaming, I just think that those who do both are in the minority of gamers.

I think, conversely, that I'm the opposite of what one of you described as not having any interest in PC gaming and loving console gaming.

I've bought or received every generation of major console since their big inception to the market and I have a downward slope of attention to them. Honestly, the NES was probably my most used and admittedly favorite console over the years, but I can't help but feel bad about the money that was spent on my last gen. and this gen. consoles. They sit there and the only reason I'd play them is a huge exclusive and let's face it, exclusives are even dying out, and they only amount to a handful of games each year that I couldn't possibly drop 60 dollars on.

I got into PC gaming because I wanted the best version of those non-Exclusives, and now even once exclusive games. I do get that, although I still miss out on some great games which is the only reason I get and then watch the newest consoles collect dust on my shelf. My PC gets used more in general too, as consoles converge with more features and options, I find that my PC already has some alternative to fall on or simply had the functionality already. I write, listen to music, edit photos, and touch up my drawings all on my PC. Gaming seems like an afterthought that I can simply embellish in from time to time.

Interestingly enough, this Black Friday, I purchased Left 4 Dead for PC for only 20 dollars (the Amazon deal) and Okami for the Wii for 20 as well (something to get my Wii off the shelf as well, but hes been there for a while).

To be fair, the Wii is the first new console that offered me something I couldn't get for the PC directly, quality games designed for an interesting and compelling new experience, motion controlled gaming... I was an early adopter only to be greeted with terrible games and something that has thus far amounted to a gimmick. The ONLY reason it sits on the shelf is that good games simply haven't come to it readily, otherwise it, not the mighty 360 or PS3, might've been (and still might be) the console that gets me off the PC chair and into the couch again (Oh I've missed you).

The 360 it self is a medium spec PC itself. Any recent PC will be able to play something like Gears 2. Just because you have an old/cheap PC it doesn't mean everything on the 360 is superior.
