uh, for me the k+m are the best controllers for games that require precision aiming such as shooters and rts's

Now when it comes to action/adventure games that require a certain amount of precision to the movement, I rather go with console controllers.

often those two genre's are on the same game, so I have to see which one would work the best, such as in Tomb Raider where I think it can handle the shooting aspects with the controller.

The rest? I don't really care which controller I use for those other games.

If I wanted to buy games that might or might not work, force me to use a lousy KB/M interface, subject me to a loud fan, over priced system I'd buy a PC for gaming. I used to play PC games a lot but that was before 2001 (when the Xbox first game out) after that I don't resort to PC gaming unless I can't afford real games.

I was so close to purchasing a 360, but I think I may just build another gaming rig. Won't have to worry about the PC crapping out on me at least.

PC is getting all the games that make PS3 owners envious including myself. Fable 2, Mass Effect, GeOW, plus the superior multi platforms such as Assassins Creed, and Fallout.

4870X2, here I come!

PC gamers were always elitist, but at least there used to be good reason for that. These days not only are they elitist, but they're always trying to push PC gaming down everyone's throat like the worst of any fanboy. It's really annoying these days, and I'm at the point where I wish PC gaming would finally die off simply to force these idiots into suicide.

Anyways, I can see Fable 2 being ported to PC. MS has nothing to do with Gears of War 2 coming to PC or not, that's Epic. As MS makes Windows, I think they'd be fine with a GoW2 on PC. Anyone else notice that Halo 3 hasn't come to PC yet either?

Anyways, I think anyone who would skip the 360 this generation is not much of a gamer. It clearly has the best lineup, and there's a LOT of relevant exclusives which seem to slip the mind of people who wish to justify spending $600-$1500 to play those same games on another platform.

I PC gamed since 1990, and I can tell you THINGS HAVE CHANGED. There were games that came out in 1990 that SNES which came out years later couldn't even do! These days a console -> PC port is simply the console game on PC 95% of the time, and the other 5% of the time the improvements are minimal. Basically I'm saying this PC/360 multiplatform nature favors the 360 much more than it favors the PC.

I take issue with the fact that your saying that anybody who skipped the 360 this generation is not much of a gamer. As a previous owner of two 360's, I dropped the platform and started gaming on the PS3. Since making that decision a year ago, I have not found a reason big enough to justify jumping back into gaming on the 360. Also, saying that the 360 has "the best lineup" is opinion at best.

Another thing I have beef about is the fact that you say 95% of the games that come to the PC are ports. Its true that they are ports but they often time support higher resolution, so in a way, they are better ports.

Also, a lot of the highly rated games that come to the 360 are less feature rich and "gimped" ports of PC games. Oblivion, The Orange Box, Command and Conquer series, and most probably Left 4 Dead, and Fallout 3 are a few examples that come to mind immediately.

This message is coming from someone who recently jumped back into PC gaming... but trying to say that PC games are irrelevant and you wish they would go away is completely ridiculous and ignorant. There are far more games that can be played on the PC than on the 360, and far more unique experiences.

Well if you had 360's die on you that's one thing. Personally I think it's worth sticking out. I've had PS3s die on me as well as 3 dead 360s, only Sony forces you to pay $150, while MS offers both extended warranties and the default 3 years on RROD. I bought a backup 360, but the last time my 360 died the service was pretty quick (similar to PS3 service time).

Even in one year's time there's been a lot of big games released on 360. PS3 is a fine system too, and many of its games rival the 360's releases, but I think 360 has the edge.

I didn't say 95% of PC games are ports, I was talking about the 95% of console games that get ported to PC not being upgraded in any important way. The biggest improvement is higher resolutions & framerates on higher end PCs, but that's just graphics. They also add in DRM and quite a few times extra bugs as well. I think a bug-free game is more important than somewhat better graphics (which usually doesn't include higher resolution textures or better effects as console -> PC ports USED to be).

I think calling something like Oblivion or Left 4 Dead gimped on consoles in any way is very wrong. I own Oblivion on PC as well as 360, I even made an early mod for Oblivion that was kind of popular. However, I've played the 360 version probably 10 times as much as the PC version. There's a real argument for RTS ports to 360, because the gamepad really doesn't work well for those Dune/Warcraft clone type games.

I only wish PC gaming would die based upon the fanbase. Hey there are some cool people into PC gaming that I know personally, but they're such an annoying fanboy base on the net, I can't help but hate them.

There are certainly more games on PC than 360, but PC gaming was around for many decades now. If you don't count flash or very small developed games, I think 360 gets more games per year now, especially with the new XNA games.

I don't think the PC is completely irrelevant, but I think it really is starting to become irrelevant for these high production value games (big titles). There are a lot of great freeware / flash / small dev games, and I think those will continue to do well on PC until the platform becomes irrelevant in a hardware-sense.

This is one thing that makes the PS3 worth buying, exclusives.

For Xbox 360, you know there's a good chance it will pop up on the PC while PS3 exclusives are PS3 EXCLUSIVE.

Note to all fanboys... I have an Xbox 360 and I have about 5 more games than my PS3 so don't act like i'm some Xbox hater.

it's absolutely coming to PC, it's a MS Games Studio title. Not only is this coming, so is Too Human BTW. Of course the CM's are going to deny it like they always do, it's the Holiday season, and MS does NOT want to send out a message that a better version on PC is coming in a few months. MS Games studio wants money, and in this economy, MS will do ANYTHING, just not until after the Holiday rush.

Enjoying your PC version of Halo 3 then?

Considering how badly those games sold (Fable in particularly) on the PC, I honestly don't see why they'd bother porting the sequel. As is very evident from the replies here, it just gives people reason NOT to buy a 360, and hurts the sales of the Xbox versions of the gaems.

The fact we still haven't even heard rumours of a PC port of Halo 3 well more than a year after it's 360 release, leads me to believe Microsoft may have caught on.

Either way, the point was that this news isn't true. It originated from a small site fishing for hits, and Lionhead have denied it. You can argue that it might happen all you want, but this story is bogus.

The first one was good, the second one was ok but the PC port was terrible, and as I said before I don't know any PC gamers who would care about Halo 3 being ported. That is not to say there aren't any PC gamers who would want it just not any that I know of.

Agree with Snowblind about Halo 3. Hell there's people right now that probably would have loved Halo 3, but wants to hate it so much that they end up disliking it when it's really a very good game.

Ever notice how games that sell ALOT tend to also be hated on the most? While games that sell little ends up making a following that suddenly makes the game that much better?

But I disagree with the Fable 2 thing. I DO think MS will release it. With Gears and Halo, they have a contract with Bungie/Epic about the game. While with Fable, they actually own the company themselves.

Epic claims they will not make a port so maybe they have that authority or maybe MS will get someone else to port it. Maybe Bungie has the authority to keep Halo on consoles or maybe MS finally wants their hit franchise to truly be EXCLUSIVE, especially since it's sold well enough that they don't need to port it or maybe they will get someone to port it down the line... who knows...

But with Fable, MS OWNS it completely in every aspect. Fable 2 while selling well, does not sell as well as other games. Also it being a RPG, it could very well be alot more successful on a PC where you could have 8 player co-op games instead of just 2.

But these are just theories and could be WAY OFF. But with MS, I always automatically think PORT! They are just such money grubbers that it happens.

So when it comes to PS3 vs 360, atleast PS3 actually has EXCLUSIVES to their console and only their console. The downside to this is that these games, whether it be resistance, Killzone 2, LBP, MGS4, etc. etc. will end up dying because the only people who will be able to play it are people who still own a PS3 and at the same time once the PS3 moves on their won't be any "new" gamers because you cannot buy a PS3 or even a MGS4 copy (like trying to buy SNES games and consoles) because the games/console become a relic that can only be found on ebay, flea markets, etc. etc.

Of course if the next console is backward compatible then this helps it stay alive. BUT, it will still be hard to find the game since no more are made, unlike PC where you can damn near ALWAYS get a game, whether you download it, pay digitally or basically order it off their website (blizzard).

But these are the downsides to console games.

I'll bet anything that in 10 years, you will not find a community of Halo 2 players anymore and if their still is one, it will be very small and will only get smaller with time. While right now, their are still people playing Diablo 1 and WarCraft II because it's on PC.

But for me, this doesn't exactly matter because unlike other people I just cannot play a console game for more than 3 months straight without getting bored because unlike the PC games, their isn't a community to really get into. Sure their are a few forums, but the only communication is while you're in a game with a mic, while PC games have lobbies (mainly blizzard games) and you can use a keyboard. I'm sorry but talking to random strangers with a mic is a bit awkward sometimes and having a casual conversation is odd. I personally only really use it when i'm drunk, high, with a REAL friend or my brother. Which i'm hoping that Playstation HOME can be a fix for that since I see you can chat with a keyboard, so that could help build a true community like back in my Diablo 1, Diablo 2, WarCraft 2, WarCraft 3 and StarCraft days (god I miss those days).

Okay sorry guys, but i'm ranting now... maybe one day I should start a blog lol, or maybe I should stop taking shots of vodka to help me sleep?

Forget about all of this people, Fallout 3 is getting an SDK for the PC...END OF DISCUSSION. You wanna talk legs? F3 on PC is gonna have massive legs when the community gets their hands on it, just as they did with Oblivion(have it for both 360 and PC, PC version with mods is excellent)

Laptop gaming in the living room, with an 12' HDMI cable and H5 V2 headset > or = too all of my consoles(Wii, PS3, 360, PS2, GC, Xbox).

As for Fable 2, I find it a "meh" game...I'm half way through it, like it much better then the first, but I'm selling this thing as soon as I'm done with it(probably on Amazon, since Ebay is getting out of control with their fees)

buying a new video card and ram instead of a 360 last year was the best decision I ever made. Now I get to play almost everygame thats out on 360 (except gears2 and halo3, which I don't care for since the first gears didn't really impress me, and the halo series got old a while ago). And I got a ps3 which fills me up with resistance, LBP, and MGS4.
For those complaining how you have to "wait" on PC all I have to say is that there are a ton of games out on PC that won't see the light of day on 360 like Spore, Crysis, Warhammer and any Blizzard game.
Precious 360 "exclusives" I have on PC are: Mass Effect, Gears of War 1, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead, Lost Planet, Overlord and now I will add Fable II.

That maybe so, but you have two things working against you.

1. MS owns Lionhead so MS decides what happens, no matter how much they may protest
2. Fable 1 was released on PC, so there's that "if history is any indication" effect...

There is no way pc will ever die as it is upgradeable, yeah sure the ps3 and xb360 might b better now, but the down is thats what you buy and thats what you get, with a pc you can upgrade and some games are just better handled with a kboard and mouse, the pc has seen many consoles come and go yet it stands firm, which brings me to fable 2, quite francly not releasing it on pc is like saying we already made 100million why do we want another, i think in general people with pc's outweughs people with consoles, but thats just my opinion
