I'll hold off until the 'Make This Game Good' pack comes out.

Well I mean it does look impressive for sure. Too bad it'll suck ass gameplay-wise being for the 360 and all.

It doesn't even look that good. Everything about it stinks of a shoddily coded Unreal 3 game - enemies pop-in repeatedly, the game runs at about 10 frames per second and everything looks very Unreal - e.g. awful.

The story for the game sounds great.. and these DLC packs only sweeten the deal. But if the game doesn't actually work, then what's the point?

I'm shocked that they were allowed to release the game in that kind of condition. People can complain about the bugs and glitches in Fable 2 and Fallout..

But this game seriously barley even runs.

Sweet dear lord people need to stop.

NO, the game is NOT unplayable. It does NOT run like a slideshow. If you install it on the hard drive, load times are rarely over 3 seconds for anything. Battles have a bit of slowdown but it's less than what's in Mass Effect during busy fights and since Last Remnant's turn-based, none of it matters anyway. There's a small amount of texture pop-in but that really doesn't matter when it takes all of 1 second to show up and it's on the same level as Mass Effect.

The game is NOT broken.

snowblind, the game runs trust me.

Eggman, for the people who dont have NXE or installing doesnt work (i get a disk error halfway at around 60%) it really is kind of glitchy. The mapping pops would happen alot and sometimes they would last well into half the cutscene. Popping would also happen in the middle of battles for some reason. Loading times are kind of short even without installing so i never had a problem on waiting times.

Its a playable game, only if it wasnt so goddamn boring and repetitive. The story sucks, the combat system is nice and original ect but its also super long. Think back on how long battles were in old school rpgs with your 4 characters that each did an attack on the enemy, then multiply that by the 15-20 characters you control and each doing their own attack.

Its like having a working gps (it does work) but every single time you try to go somewhere it purposely directs you into traffic just so the ride is longer. And the voice (story) that directs you isn't some sexy chick but the guy from those dry eye commercials.

I really don't understand people who say this when I have yet to see a single Youtube video of this game running remotely even close to a slideshow, even coming from the dvd. I just see a not-really-gamebreaking-amount of slowdown and it being blown way out of proportion.

Its a JRPG if you listen to the reviewers over here they will say it is broken. But games like the witcher, and fallout should just get a pass. That is just the way this generation is. I like Jrpgs I intend of giving it a try, if it disappoints I will just chalk it up to another bad game.

When a developer is releasing this many DLC so soon after the release then you know this was a whole plan to get money into their pockets.

Chances are they could have easily put this into the game's release but decided to hold it so that they could release it as "DLC" to get even more money.

I wouldn't buy any DLC just to spite them. Plus JRPG's suck so I wouldn't be the game either way.

I've been playing this game for a few days now and completely agree. Load times are so quick w/ install that I don't have time to read the tips/hints they put on the load screens. The texture pop in is nowhere near as bad as Mass Effect and nobody seemed to mind for that game. And it is turn based, so the slowdown has no effect on the gameplay whatsoever. And I know this is a novel idea, but before you say that the game is unplayable, maybe you should try actually playing it first?

Nobody seemed to mind for Mass Effect because it did everything else solid. In this game, the graphics stick out like a sore thumb. Mediocre story, gameplay and the graphics aren't solid enough to overlook it's faults.

The story in Mass Effect is extremely generic. I mean seriously. None of the villains even have reasons for doing anything. None of the characters are memorable and none of the matter because all of their development is optional. The gameplay was a poor 3rd person shooter grafted onto one of the most unwieldy special attack interfaces known to man.

Trust me, even on top of all of that, I've still played through the game three times.

Last Remnant has a better story, a solid battle system (it really only gets long and super difficult during a few later giant battles on disc 2), and has a soundtrack that beats out most RPGs in the last few years.

So no, it does stick it out like a sore thumb. Aside from art style, the texture work is the same as Mass Effect because they both use UE3. If someone has a problem with one of the games, they better have a problem with both.
