Admit it, watching that guy play the Star Trek theme on the Wiimote theremin gave you a powerful appetite for Roddenberry's magnum opus -- we highly suggest satisfying your interstellar jones with three new screenshots for Cryptic's Star Trek Online, available in the gallery below. These are easily the best-looking images to come out of the game thus far -- just look at the glow from the dry dock's hazard lights, shimmering on the tritanium hull of that majestic, spacefaring vessel. Whoa, apologies for that brief relapse to our Trekkie days. Check out the gallery while we play a few recompensory rounds of Madden.

Yup, definitely an MMO. That said, it looks better than most - smooth and crisp is better than awful low settings and unattainable very high.

Also, developers....Centaur class vessel for a screenshot? Seriously? You try to tempt us with a throwaway background model from the DS9 days? I don't think that's a ship that will tempt anyone...

Yes, but here's a thought. Imagine trying to build the ISS on the ground then sending it up into space. Then imagine building a ship ten to twenty times the weight of the ISS, and sending it into space.

Imaginery ship or not, physics and gravity are quite, QUITE, real.

oh oh, but except, in the Star trek universe, gravity is some sort of energy field and that humans have already mastered it... with artificial gravity and also "inertial dampeners".. Last time I checked the ISS had neither of those clever technologies.

When you can manipulate gravity itself, having to worry about the effects of gravity seems rather silly, no?

But again.. IMAGINARY.
