Weekly Webcomic Wrapup celebrates Murray

Although we're a little overstuffed compared to last time, we did take two weeks to hibernate so it's our right as a webcomic wrapup to break the new, self-imposed "seven contenders per week" rule. Just this once.
Games in Proteins (Digital Unrest)
Theft of the Magi (XKCD)
Crossover (CAD Comic)
Cooking Mama: Thanksgiving Day Massacre (MNC)
Red, the Color of Seduction (Indoor Heroes)
A Frightening Concoction (Robot Martini)*
From Dawn Till Dusk (2P Start)
The Truth is the New Lie (Penny Arcade)
Shattrath is a Ghost Town (Extra Life)
The New Flesh (Dipswitch)
* For those who don't get subtlety.

i love the cooking mama one.
"thats one crazy bitch"- PETA
LxgShaka @ Nov 30th 2008 10:14PM
Didn't really like any of those.. gave my vote to Monday Night Crew because anything that makes fun of PETA's "Game" it's by definition, awesome.
But pretty crappy week for webcomics IMO, Thanksgiving maybe?
MNC Dover @ Nov 30th 2008 10:23PM
I'm glad our Cooking Mama strip made the poll, but I was hoping for the Left 4 Dead one instead. Oh well, you can check it out here if you're interested:

LxgShaka @ Nov 30th 2008 10:44PM
Ok, I loved the Left 4 Dead one.. maybe it's just my personal hatred for emo kids AND zombies, but it's AWESOME :)
giantenemycrab @ Dec 1st 2008 12:41AM
"Sundae, Bloody Sundae."
That's gold. I laughed out loud at that one.
MagikOvenMit @ Nov 30th 2008 10:29PM
Robot Martini is definitely the winner.
Guiltyspark @ Nov 30th 2008 10:48PM
Aw man
I would have voted for that L4D MNC in a heartbeat!
LEFT 4 DEAD FTW!
In other news, XKCD gets my vote this week. That comic seems to be funny all the time, game related or not.
Markez @ Nov 30th 2008 10:49PM
SHAT-rath? Wow. What a horrible name.
Wiinterfang @ Nov 30th 2008 10:51PM
As a Sonic fan I have to give it to Robot Martini :D.
WiiFTW @ Nov 30th 2008 10:53PM
Voted for XKCD
Now I remember reading Gift of the Magi in 7th grade English...
Comet @ Nov 30th 2008 10:54PM
Why is Super Effective left out every week? Those comics are much better then the CAD trash on here every week.
Penguin Warlord @ Nov 30th 2008 10:54PM
I abstain on the grounds that the aforementioned possibilities blow. Chunks.
Poisoned Al @ Nov 30th 2008 10:56PM
Those where rather crappy. Not that I could do any better mind you. Here's proof:

capt_carl @ Nov 30th 2008 10:59PM
This CAD was way funnier, but there was no wrapup last weekend...

Tiptup300 @ Nov 30th 2008 11:09PM
I'm sorry, it's actually spelled "terrible".
capt_carl @ Nov 30th 2008 11:23PM
Your idea of funny is "terrible," as is your usage of "quotes."
Comet @ Dec 1st 2008 12:02AM
CAD comes up as shit on spell check.
Nesta @ Dec 1st 2008 2:37AM
Yep. That was pretty terrible. Good job!
Haggard @ Dec 1st 2008 3:04AM
Problem is CAD can occasionally have some good ideas but with bad delivery, or great delivery of really cliched and obvious ideas.
Never can it do both things right at once.

Woot!! No castle this week. Thanks Joystiq for taking out the trash.
Agreed: CAD L4D FTW
Thatoneguy64 @ Nov 30th 2008 11:22PM
Sorry you need your jokes explained in the fourth panel to find them funny.
nick @ Nov 30th 2008 11:27PM
Sorry you like jokes that make you cry instead of laugh
Kyattsuai @ Nov 30th 2008 11:48PM
Robot Martini's got my vote this week. I did a comic last week...
http://burntheinternet.blogspot.com/2008/11/this-weeks-comic-biggest-crossover-yet.html#jump
I can't help but think that it's been done before. Maybe I'm just thinking of that sprite comparison chart.
Roto13 @ Nov 30th 2008 11:48PM
XKCD for the win. If only for the title.
And the fact that Roombas need battle harnesses.
And the fact that it reminded me of the Woomba sketch from Saturday Night Live.
Gavin @ Dec 1st 2008 10:45AM
Like the comic! (though Bison isn't totally screwed since Ryu can only hit him with low sweeps ((at that size)) )
Anticrawl @ Nov 30th 2008 11:54PM
Loving the CAD comic this week, and the Left 4 Dead one last week was great too.

dantebk @ Dec 1st 2008 12:06AM
Wow! Funny week!
Both CAD and Indoor Heroes made me laugh out loud. Good stuff. I ended up voting for CAD just because it felt more... original, somehow.
paradox @ Dec 1st 2008 12:23AM
It's nice that the man in the black hat found !soul mate
Negativecool @ Dec 1st 2008 12:48AM
Seriously? "Theft of the Magi" was funnier to most? Seriously??.. Jeez. I'm out of touch...
Great! Now I feel lonely!
hvnlysoldr @ Dec 1st 2008 2:35AM
Sure there are names of video game characters in proteins, but pikachurin, sonic hedgehog, and for a while there pokemon are names of proteins.
Victor @ Dec 1st 2008 3:35AM
this week's batch was pathetic and CAD shouldnt be getting votes
alienmastermind @ Dec 1st 2008 12:20PM
As one of the people with a pathetic comic, I'd like to apologize on behalf of the internet. But, would like to ask you to describe more fully what you hate about the comics. I'll never get better at doing this if your criticism boils down to 'meh' or 'pathetic'.
Also, you're kind of a dick.
Love,
Alienmastermind.
Victor @ Dec 2nd 2008 3:25AM
it would help if I knew which comic is yours
Alienmastermind @ Dec 2nd 2008 10:04AM
Dipswitch. :)
You know, the pathetic one.
AM
Victor @ Dec 2nd 2008 4:08PM
oh that one wasnt bad it just wasnt funny
I meant the batch was pathetic because none of them were actually funny
Mr Khan @ Dec 1st 2008 11:16AM
2P Start for me. You really do get that feeling
Though i don't find the werehog stages objectionable. I actually like them, just like the regular stages more
the_pop @ Dec 1st 2008 12:58PM
No I can't think of anything worse than shitty webcomics right now, more specifically CAD.
Ask me later.
El Verde @ Dec 1st 2008 1:23PM
Wouldn't Spore be a better fit for "wright" in the DNA of an anemone?
(bonus points: say "the DNA of an anemone" 3x fast)
Thanks again Ross!
Bucket @ Dec 1st 2008 2:25PM
Sorry-- there's only one Thanksgiving Day Massacre, and that's in Alice's Restaurant.
Tellyn @ Dec 1st 2008 7:33PM
