Video proof of Jaspers with 256MB internal memory

so is this a Jasper or not? since it has 175W power brick? me is confuzzled.

So is there a way to identify Jaspers from Falcons when still in the box? Anything from the manufacturer codes or some such?

Honestly, it's too bad that they're getting rid of the memory card in favor of the internal memory. The memory card is great for when I go to my friends' houses.

I have an XBOX which I picked up last summer, my memory card that came with it is reported as MU.

Hhhmmm, is that a modded Xbox I see???

It is a Jasper if it comes with 256mb built-in flash memory. even if it got 175W PSU its still a jasper cus MS i phasing out the old powerbricks which btw still works on Jasper-360's. Though Jasper bricks doesn't work with falcons or older models.

I exchanged my unstable arcade today at wal-wort and ended up with a Jasper system. It runs a lot quieter, and cooler, and the power brick has vents cut into the sides. Yes it has onboard memory (I thought I was trippin') and no memory card. This one hasn't frozen yet. An intercooler ex female plug isn't compatible anymore, though I doubt I'll need it.

yup they are jaspers, they have been cracked open and in the inside it includes a sticker that says jasper, its next to where the serial sticker on the board is at next to the fans. if I find the pic again ill post it up.

After watching the above video I just had to chime in and say that the owner of the 360 in the video is an absolute idiot, because you never place a gaming system directly on the carpet. This is standard electronics knowledge people, never put your console, or any console for that matter, directly on the carpet because carpet is proven to create static electricity, (you know the little shock you can give others after walking on carpet), and when you have that static electricity charge directly in contact with your console and you turn it on, you are in essence sending that shock directly to your components, and simply put, say bye, bye to your system.

This is the exact reason a person working on a computer has to either wear an anti-static strap or at least discharge any built up static electricity by touching a metal object, (like the computer case), prior to touching anything in the computer.

In no way do I want to get into a long drawn out debate about the whole RROD controversy, but I have long suspected that one of the possible reasons that a lot of 360's are kicking the bucket is because of just this problem, placing your 360 directly on the carpet !!

I also believe that some of the 360 issues are also caused by people not venting their systems properly, or just plainly treating their systems like shit, (and I don't care who says otherwise but so many people do not take care of their electronics)!!

NOW BEFORE I GET FLAMED TO PIECES, I WANT TO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR THAT IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THAT THE RROD IS NOT DUE TO MICROSOFT'S SUB-PAR, SHODDY WORKMANSHIP, BUT I DO BELIEVE SOME OF THE ISSUES ARE CAUSED BY BONEHEADS LIKE THE OWNER IN THE VIDEO, AND BY MISTREATMENT PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

So if my Xbox 360 says 14.2a on the back and it was made in September 4, 2008 it definitely isn't a Jasper?

It has the brick power supply with the vents but I have no way to test to see if I can access that 256 MB since I don't have a card.

Hey im kinda new to the whole xbox "falcon" and "jaspers" or whatever stuff they're making for christmas, can anyone give me actual facts on the reliability on these things now? I want the arcade unit not for online but for gears 2, fable2 and maybe some other game for the future but do not intend on using online. How likely is it that i will get a red ring of death if i buy the new arcade model? Is it the same? Or have they improved?

This is not the first screen shot that I saw MU listed as 3 drives.

Unless you already have a 20gb drive, then its a damned deal. You can buy the 20gb drives for $30 now, and for most people that is plenty of space.

i really wanna get a jasper 360 to replace my current console. i need more hdd space, a new mic and another fresh controller anyway..

i wish they just put a big green JASPER sticker on the front.. i doubt anyone would notice and it would save a real fanboy some time looking at serial numbers and build dates..

That's cool, but I wish I could have one of those. The Flash memory for the NXE would be great. Anything running off flash memory is better then anything mechanical.
