New games this week: Prince of Persia edition
Well, that's wasn't too hard of a choice, was it? Honestly, if we didn't have Prince of Persia to elevate to that honored slot, we don't know what we'd do. The next closest is probably Destroy All Humans: Path of the Furon or maybe the PC version of Grand Theft Auto IV, which all good citizens have already partaken in (spoiler alert: Niko is a criminal).
If you think that's rough though, just wait until next week, when we're betting we'll be choosing between the "Imagine Babiez edition" and the "Imagine Babysitterz edition." :shudder:

A VamPYRE story?
Color me intrigued!
fco. @ Dec 1st 2008 10:49AM
It's a point & click adventure game done by former Lucasarts employees. Should be worth a look..

Re: Chain of Memories for me. Persona 4 next week! :D
As if I don't have enough RPGs to play...
T @ Dec 1st 2008 9:33AM
No sympathy here. I've just started Chrono Trigger (DS) and have Persona 4 on reserve as well.
And I never got a chance to finish out Persona 3: FES or even start Blue Dragon...
Being an RPG fan is cool because there's tons of fun games, but at the same time it's such a time suck!
xGeneral DEATHx (Mr ESC Welcome Back Party Ultimate Mega Action Force) @ Dec 1st 2008 9:41AM
That's why I haven't played RPG's in recent years...when you find one with interesting characters and you really connect with the story, it's SO DIFFICULT to put it down, like a good book.
All the same, I'd love to take a crack at the Persona titles.
capt_carl @ Dec 1st 2008 10:28AM
Haha, I've played through CT like a dozen times. I'm breezing through it right now on the DS. I'm also working on Blue Dragon, just finished disc 1.
I beat Persona 3, but never FES. I have Odin Sphere and Wild ARMs 5 that have been collecting dust along with my PS2 for a few months now. So many games, no time to play them all.
Hyams @ Dec 1st 2008 9:31AM
The good people of Britain should be sure to order their copy of Prince of Persia from Play.com, for all the extra goodies you get for free.

baby sea tuna @ Dec 1st 2008 9:32AM
Ah, new gen, a new PoP. I can has reviews nao?
sam @ Dec 1st 2008 9:41AM
Eh, you don't think Ubisoft has banned reviews below 9.8 from coming out until a month after release date?
I want a review of the Nancy Drew game (Wii version). No, seriously, I really do... Leaving that aside, Wii does have Mushroom Men and SPRay as 'possibly decent, possibly not' games this week, which is an improvement over most weeks.
baby sea tuna @ Dec 1st 2008 9:46AM
And not a single game with a "z" at the end of the name! They really must be turning over a new leaf. 2009, year of the Wii, I'm callin it!
Ashkental @ Dec 1st 2008 9:33AM
Pre-Ordered Prince of Persia long time ago...
Since the original Prince was the first game i ever played in my life i think i'm bound to this game :D
Dirty @ Dec 1st 2008 9:35AM
I dont see any Zs in that Wii list, whats going on here?
LaughingTarget @ Dec 1st 2008 9:43AM
Fell off the keyboard?
Mr Khan @ Dec 1st 2008 9:45AM
It is basically the last week of good games until SEGA and Capcom start releasing their Q1 reserves into the wild, but its not like anyone is wanting, right?
A good sendoff between Prince of Persia and Mushroom Men anyway
Mike @ Dec 1st 2008 9:48AM
All good citizens have already partaken in GTA IV? Damn, I guess I must be a bad citizen who prefers to wait a little for precision controls, higher definition graphics, no pop-up, much better frame rate, no load times and a -$10 price difference. Call me crazy.
baby sea tuna @ Dec 1st 2008 9:51AM
Yup, u mad.

I don't know why but LULZ.
John Z @ Dec 1st 2008 9:55AM
Thinking about King of Fighters, in point of fact. I have no idea why I'm on such a drive for fighters lately. Hopefully it supports the Classic controller (I don't see how it couldn't). KH is going to have to wait until I get through some of the big RPGs I've picked up in the last few months-- I mean, finish writing. Still not finished just yet (maybe another 4 chapters).
vgxtremist @ Dec 1st 2008 10:08AM
Wow, can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm glad the game releases are finally slowing down...this is probably the last game I'm going to get till RE5.
Bagels @ Dec 1st 2008 10:11AM
Aw, c'mon, not even an honorable mention for Mushroom Men Spore Wars? I mean, Prince of Persia is the bigger title and I'm getting both MM and POP, but it most certainly is more excitng than any Destroy all Humans game.
baby sea tuna @ Dec 1st 2008 10:23AM
Is it?
Bagels @ Dec 1st 2008 12:29PM
Orignial IP, one of the coolest art directions on the Wii, customizable weapons system, yes, I would say "It is."
*Insert obligatory comment about dusting off Wii to play this game"*
tmacairjordan87 @ Dec 1st 2008 3:41PM
Except I haven't seen one decent review for that game from a non-nintendo site.

Gavin @ Dec 1st 2008 12:45PM
thanks :D
Roto13 @ Dec 1st 2008 10:33AM
I want Prince of Persia reviews, dammit. I can't finalize my Christmas list until I see some.
Ubisoft is entirely capable of getting PoP horribly, horribly wrong, as evidenced by Warrior Within. (The odds of this being another WW are slim, but I'm taking no chances. xP)
Haggard @ Dec 1st 2008 10:48AM
How bad is Warrior Within? I have it sat here on my desk, waiting to be opened and played for the first time ever.
Roto13 @ Dec 1st 2008 10:54AM
Ubisoft decided that more people were put off by the weak combat of Sands of Time than drawn in by the atmosphere, so they replaced the Tales of the Arabian Nights theme of the SoT with this horrible Godsmack crap, gave the sand creatures blood for some reason, turned every female character into a giant whore (including the random female enemies who say everything short of begging you to jam your sword right up their naughty areas) and rushed it out the door without being assed to actually play test it. If you go through a certain kind of portal without hitting the switch next to it and save your game, the next time you'll load, spoilery things will happen and you won't be able to continue.
The other two Sands of Time trilogy games were great, but Warrior Within almost made me skip The Two Thrones altogether. It was like a weird Screamo version of Aladin.
Roto13 @ Dec 1st 2008 10:57AM
And you know what? With the "improved" combat system, I still basically stuck to the same two moves I used in Sands of Time, only this time I didn't have to finish the sand creatures off with the dagger.
coyotej @ Dec 1st 2008 1:42PM
Despite a lot of people's complaints (maybe it was expectations?) I actually enjoyed Warrior Within more than SoT. I liked what they did with the story, I don't dislike the Godsmack/hardcore imagery, and though it certainly had some flaws, it is the one game in the series I've played 3 times (while the other two I only played once).
To each their own.
Hyams @ Dec 1st 2008 2:14PM
Warrior Within is actually my favourite of the Sands of Time trilogy. It's the only one I completed.
Each to his own, as it goes.

Kingdom Hearts re:Chain of Memories for me too! I'm looking forward to the new scenes and the addition of voice acting.
Though I am excited about Prince of Persia too.
j.howlett @ Dec 1st 2008 11:04AM
the slow down now doesn't help that i have games from last year and beyond i still want to acquire.
Duke @ Dec 1st 2008 11:37AM
I have simply bought too many games lately and have to take a break. PoP looks like a title worth grabbing, but I really can't believe how many games we got over the last week that have not been touched.
Nigeria @ Dec 1st 2008 11:52AM
Someone please tell me Animal Boxing is a good game. They can't waste a title like that on something mediocre, it'd be a travesty.
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Dec 2nd 2008 8:31AM
Unless it's made by Phoenix Games, in which case I'm looking forward to watching it on YouTube.
