Atari announces Mizuguchi's 'QJ' for Wii, 'Q3' compilation
Atari is banking on Tetsuya Mizuguchi's next project, a music game with the working title "QJ," to reestablish the celebrated developer at the top of his, uh, game -- or to strike a chord with Wii owners, at least. The publisher announced today that it will bring Q Entertainment's QJ to Wii, but omitted further details. Marching behind a string of Lumines sequels, Mizuguchi has stumbled offbeat with his last several experiments, including Ninety-Nine Nights, Gunpey and Every Extend Extra Extreme. But QJ's music foundation suggests that Mizuguchi could be drumming up renewed inspiration from his own cult classic, Space Channel 5.
Additionally, Atari announced the Q3 ("Cubed") compilation disc for Xbox 360, which will include Mizuguchi's XBLA games: Every Extend Extra Extreme, Lumines Live and Rez HD, along with all released DLC. The collection has been given a tentative price of €30 (roughly $40) and has yet to be dated for release.

A new Space Channel 5, please.

While i quite liked 2 of those 3 "offbeat" projects, He was responsible for N3? Really?
Also: More awesome world for Wii. Though it will have to fight Let's Tap for "strange rhythm game" category

Let's Tap looks very good, very original.. I hope it can deliver.
By the way... I haven't seen you in MSN. Add me.

Miz didn't really have too much to do with N3. It was developed in Korea and he was just the producer. He had some input, but it's not fair to really associate him too closely with the game. That should go to Phantagram, who also developed the Kingdom Under Fire series.

I liked N3, and look forward to the sequel. I also like Dynasty Warriors, so sue me.

I'm curious as to why you enjoy dynasty warriors

because sometimes the mindless slaughter of thousands...no millions of chin-ese people to some ridiculous rock music makes me feel good about myself.
Also when you level up your opponents do not, so it actually makes a difference. That always bugs me about some RPGs. If I level up and cant go somewhere where I will just obliterate the enemies there (which even then in a turn based game just isnt t satisfying).
We all have our vices I guess and the DW series is mine.

Hot damn!

What's wrong with Gunpey? It's not The Greatest Game Ever, but it's still A Good Game.
Blazur @ Dec 2nd 2008 3:53PM
Haha, good show James...bravo.

Some people lust after Miyamoto, others idolize Sid Meier or Will Wright. But for me, it's Miz. Rez was just the tip of the iceberg, and I'm hoping that this turns out to be just as awesome as E3 or even Meteos were.
(The Award-Winning) dark_inchworm @ Dec 2nd 2008 5:22PM
Yes, tell me this news of a compilation almost immediately after I caved and bought Rez.
I may still pick up the compilation disc, though, if only for Y2K-like fear of a DRM fallout.

I used to know a girl who would give the meanest QJ around.

If the disc is the only way I can obtain the Heavenly Star/Breeze skins after they took them off the Marketplace, then I might consider it.
