Ghostbusters slated for June 2009
In case you were wondering who you gonna call to report spectral malfeasance, Atari has announced that it is officially reconnecting the Ghostbusters hotline in June 2009 (via MCV). The title, which as of November 7 officially crossed over from Vivendi to Atari following the Activision Blizzard merger, is expected to come out for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PS2 and PC.

Glad to hear they are still working on it enough to declare a release window. I feared that this potentially awesome title was going to get lost in the cracks.

God i hope this is good. I love the Ghostbusters but all of the games are very lame.
Viridium @ Dec 2nd 2008 3:50PM
Are you kidding? Do you know how many youthful hours I spent in front of my Commodore 64 playing Ghostbusters? At times I'd even just follow the bouncing ball on the title screen and sing along to the theme song.
deddyluger @ Dec 2nd 2008 4:16PM
Hell yeah. The Commodore game kicked ass.

I wonder if its going to use Luigi's Mansion-like controls
tmmoore_nc @ Dec 2nd 2008 2:50PM
I hope it has co-op.
Darayz @ Dec 2nd 2008 3:01PM
I hope it has 4 player co op
the tif @ Dec 2nd 2008 3:11PM
That would be a huge waste if they didn't have co-op. Blasting ghosts with 3 friends would kick ass!!!
Courtney @ Dec 2nd 2008 3:33PM
Nope, no campaign coop, though there are supposed to be non-story multiplayer modes:
http://www.co-optimus.com/article/156/Ghostbusters_Game_Lacks_Campaign_Based_Co-Op.html
Which sucks, as it seems entirely too obvious to not freaking include. It sounds like the devs were too married to delivering a particular story rather than coop gameplay.
Dirty @ Dec 2nd 2008 3:46PM
No Co-op sucks, but you wouldn't want everyone out there crossing streams.

Phil is great on his first years usually gathering diverse games, but hopefully he doesn't make the same mistake he did at Sony and simply because a competitor has the upperhand on one genre he'll put all the resources there. -_-
