Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days + NA release confirmed = headline

Square Enix has confirmed a North American release for Kingdom Hearts: Ludicrous Subtitle (AKA Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days), the Action-RPG franchise's first entry on the Nintendo DS. The game revolves around Roxas, star of Kingdom Hearts II's prolonged prologue and one-time member of ~~My Chemical Romance~~ Organization XIII.

Though Square Enix has yet to provide a definitive release date for the English version, players can start looking forward to a series first: a multiplayer mode that allows "players to control their favorite Organization XIII members!" Oh, our favorite? Uh, well ... the one with the spiky hair, ominous coat and largely impractical weapon, obviously.

i have a confession to make...i loved Panic! At The Disco's first album...and the last Fall Out Boy album too./hey, put those stones down...

Never saw the appeal of these games, don't get me wrong, as with most things I don't get I'm happy someone out there enjoy's it.

I'm sure someone out there thinks me listing Fallout 3 as my all time favorite is whack-o.

I enjoyed them and have been waiting to see one on the new consoles. Besides that, I like Fallout too!

I'm with you, but I get that "omg, what is wrong with you" look from my daughter if I dare say anything about the KH series.

The best thing is how people I would never imagine in a million years liking it LOVE IT. I went over this friend of a friends house once, big thug, drug dealin stereotype kinda fellow and there is kingdom hearts on his PS2, funny stuff.

You're not allowed to think games that came out less than 3 years ago are the best games ever. It's the law or something.

I'm a sucker for crossovers, so long as i care about both of the universes in question. However, i am a skeptic of JRPGs

But considering KH was previously bound to PS2, i never got a shot, considering i didn't feel like picking up Chain of Memories as it was a spinoff

Normally I would agree Haggard, but I have made an exception for Fallout 3 because it has sucked my life away.

I played the first one up to the Hercules level and quit. If I'm fighting a giant three-headed hound of hell and I can't freaking see it, there's something unforgivably wrong with the camera.

i love the KH gaes myself. i think i love the fight system more than anything. ad im with Roto13 about the camera in the first one and that fight with Cerberus was the most frustrating part in the series hands down lol.

I never played any of the other kingdom hearts games. Are they Role Playing games? I never liked those kind of guys. Maybe because they pretty much take to much time and over your whole life for a while.

Not the token female? Can't say I blame you, she was incredibly cheap on Chain of Memories on the GBA.

My biggest problem with this subtitle is that I have no idea how to say it. Like, is it "358 halves" or "358 over two" or "we really are just throwing stupid shit out there without even thinking it through"?

Kingdom Hearts, though, was an incredible game, easily one of the PS2's best. It sort of had all the great elements of JRPGs minus the annoyances (bad VO, offensive story, random battles, etc.). KH2 a little less so: it felt like everything got really generic really fast.

See, I thought I had it figured out. The story takes place over a year, and over two screens. 365 days over 2! But it's only 358 days. So, I'm guessing they trimmed the days where Roxas was just sitting around reading a book?

They took out all the bathroom breaks. Roxas takes a looooooong time in the bathroom.

Maybe 6 of those missing days were in KH2? So they only cut the one day he was reading a book, which I'm guessing probably wasn't Winnie the Pooh.

It's pronounced Three Eighty Five Over Two Days according to Square.

It's pretty fucking stupid, yeah.

Wow. And people complained that Halo: ODST was hard to say? :P

According to Tetsuya Nomura, the director of the series, it's "Three-eight-five days over two." Screwed up, I know...

Fail.

I'm looking forward to finding new and inventive ways to inflict MAXIMUM PAIN upon Demyx. And it's all because of this bit from KH2:

Demyx: "Dance, water, dance!"
Sora: *dies*
Me: "F$%# YOU, DEMYX!" *stops playing KH2 for 3+ years*

That's a terrible subtitle. Square needs to fire their translator.

Except that is not the translated subtitle. In Japan, the game is also called 358/2 days

Does it mean anything in Japanese? I mean maybe then I could say oh well... but otherwise they need to fire someone in Marketing.

I don't understand two things:

Why the kingdom hearts hate?

And

Why comment a post about a game you don't give a damn about?

Nomura said that the subtitle has a meaning that the gamer will understand by the game's end.

(But I think that the 358 are the days Roxas stayed at the org XIII minus the 7 days of the Kh II prologue that would make the complete year. The over two part is still a mistery though.)
