Actually, the funny thing is, I was stuck in a Doctors office last night, stuck in the exam room for like an hour and the only magazine to read was "parenting". Which, mind you, is one of the worst magazines ever conceived. But what did I find in said overprotective mothering magazine?

An ad for the Wii.

Case. Closed.

I wonder if there is going to be a surplus of RRoD at the begining of next year...

Heh, I couldn't resist :)

Congrats MS though on those numbers. Its a great system even if it has a few hardware flaws

Although in general you don't go to Microsoft to find out accurately how much they outsold their competition (these are the same people make you buy Vista to get XP), I have no doubt the 360 heavily outsold the PS3 on Black Friday. PS3 is already expensive compared to 360, and there were killer sales on 360 on Black Friday.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear PS3 outsell 360 in the US the rest of break Xmas now that the deals are over, but given the big number of 360s sold on Black Friday, I'm certain 360 will have the bigger sales numbers in the US this year.

Sony, you're messing this up. Find a way to fix it or else you'll lose not only this generation but likely the next one too.

If the PS3 does hit 100 million consoles we'll probably already be on the second generation of games for the next consoles and no one will give a damn about 360, Wii, or PS3 sales.

I'm pretty sure that MS, Nintendo, and Sony will give a damn about the sales.

The Ford F-150 is the top selling truck because it is the cheapest. It doesn't mean it's not a piece of drek. Would people buy one if they knew there was a 30% chance it the engine would explode?

"ps3 gets play when i need to watch a movie.....which is why alot of people bought ps3 in the 1st place..."

I don't see how that can be true when multi-platform games are selling as well as they are. The ratios are almost the same between PS3s vs 360s and multi-platform games on PS3 vs 360.

Preface by saying I have the 360 and PS3...and I actually just bought another PS3 for the $199 Amazon Family Bundle.

The big problem is that the PS3, aside from blu-ray, doesn't provide anything that Xbox 360 doesn't. The graphics aren't superior. The controllers aren't better. The interface isn't great, and online gaming is actually worse. Sure, the PS3 may be quieter, and has free wifi/internet; but what else? For the average user who doesn't care about blu-ray, what makes the PS3 worth spending $200 vs. $400?

Good thing I don't depend on sales numbers and blog-fueled pissing contests to enjoy games.

This isn't really surprising, best games library, best online, best feature set, best controller, best price == great sales :D

I have all three consoles and find that even with all the problems I have had with my xbox 360 it gets the most play because of the xbox live and the game play the xbox 360 has to offer.

Hats off the microsoft for that.

just wish their quality control was a bit better but can't have everything I guess.

I see a lot of posters/fanboys/etc. on here that are in denial. Ppl saying the Wii isn't directly in competition with the other systems? It's a toy? Targets old people? Okay put the crack pipe down. News flash, ALL OF THE SYSTEMS ARE TOYS THEY PLAY GAMES. Your system isn't more "grown-up" because it can play movies, has internet voice chat, etc.

I bet most of the ppl saying this owned a PS2, which was the MOST CASUAL SYSTEM OF ALL TIME. You really think 150million+ of those that bought the system were all "core" or "hardcore"?

You guys need to get over your denial, MS or Sony would LOVE to be in Ninty's position. You really think those companies care about "core" vs. "casual". I mean look to NXE if you still need proof. They simplified the 360 interface, added avatars and functionability, and I can assure you that wasn't for the "core" or "hardcore"

Sony WILL NOT MOVE ABOVE 3rd place this gen. They won't wither away, but Sony is bringing up the rear. if they cut the price of the PS3 anymore they will be losing way more money than they can afford (hell they're already losing to much on it). In terms of the "core" arguement. 360 has given them the business, all they can do now is just hope for the best.

And Kodros, you need to stop drinking the Kool Aide, multiplat games sell better on 360 v. PS3 it's not even close it's like these Black Fri. sales 3-1.

@ Ether02 and that's a typical "snobby-douche" comment we Americans expect from the other regions of the world. Did ya maybe think that not everyone that is buying a 360 needs or wants the HDD? Some people aren't planning on downloading tons of games and content or movies? *Gasp!* What a concept huh?

And most XBLA can fit on the 256 MB memory card, and sort of like Ninty's strategy you can have multiple cards or erase the game and DL it again if you want to play another without paying for it again.

the only deal the PS3 has is Sony's website if you apply for a Chase visa card you get $150 off the price of the PS3....so the PS3 *is* available for $249 through Dec. 31, 2008.

(shrugs) Screw it, I'm getting Sony Visa card, which saves me $150 off an 80 GB PS3. I can definitely justify spending $250 on that and spending $100 on movies/games off Amazon. Besides, I hate to get rid of electronics I've bought, so I can keep the PS2 around as well.

Didn't help that I saw no deals on the things while I was out on Black Friday.
