New Games This Month: December 2008
Well, we're past the worst of the holiday blitz, and we've come out on the other side with only minor cuts and bruises. But though Prince of Persia may be the major release this month, there are still a few possible gems, including Rise of the Argonauts and Persona 4.
Also, with increased wiggle room, we've been able to add a few titles just for our own enjoyment. Read on, savvy shopper, read on!

Thought Rise of Argonauts was delayed til Jan 12th?
The Dark Wayne @ Dec 2nd 2008 5:48PM
yeah that's what I thought too, I'm kinda worried about it now. I'd heard that in recent test plays by other sites that it was kinda buggy and could benefit being pushed back a bit. It looked like a real quality game and I'd hate to see it suck just so it could be rushed out in time for the holiday season.
Haggard @ Dec 2nd 2008 5:47PM
It's a bit easier than last month, that's for sure.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Dec 2nd 2008 8:18PM
Heard that. I'm still out $120 USD for Prince of Persia and Argonauts though.
Markez @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:41AM
Despite a fair amount of press (well, internet only, no mainstream media) for Prince of Persia, I think all of these are going to suffer from the hype and huge holiday fallout. Thank goodness, I've blown too much coin.
Burritoclock @ Dec 2nd 2008 5:48PM
Can anyone tell me what the combat is like in Rise of the Argonauts??!?!? I have been following it, I'm interested, but I can't find out if it's turn based, hack and slash, or whatever.
Anyone?

I...I may have to rent Redneck Jamboree...
J @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:01PM
Well, you'll be interested in knowing that "customers who bought this item also bought Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009."
No, really... not sure how, but look: http://www.amazon.com/Calvin-Tuckers-Redneck-Jamboree-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B00182QCZG
Who the hell is Calvin Tucker, anyway?
Wiinterfang @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:32PM
The name and cover are pure gold.
AwesomeTown @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:35PM
They also bought the Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader game. Any idea whether they are or not?
Yuccadude @ Dec 2nd 2008 7:25PM
It's like, I want to know, but at the same time, I don't. Someone linked to the cover of the game, and I was all like, "Wow, that's a nice mock-up for a fake game." Now my mind is totally blown that it's an actual game.
Neuromancer @ Dec 3rd 2008 10:59AM
According to Google I'm Feeling Luck, Calvin Tucker is co-editor of 21stcenturysocialism.com and a freelance writer, as well as holding down a day job. I find it hard to believe.
Mister Servo @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:49PM
Well it doesn't shock me that the same crowd that likes a Jeff Foxworthy game show also like a redneck game. That joke just writes itself.
Slayer @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:02PM
I'm gong to pick up Persona 4. That will probably be my last game purchase for a long time.
Jtenma @ Dec 2nd 2008 7:24PM
indeed, it was the best RPG of 2007(3) ....and it is the best RPG this year.(4)
Slayer @ Dec 2nd 2008 7:33PM
Seriously, this is probably the only game this whole year that I can't wait to get my hands on. I'm not downplaying other games that were recently released but, I've been wanting to play a good solid jrpg for a long time now.
Donald @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:12PM
Just means that I have more time for Chrono Trigger DS.
MOT @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:19PM
I especially want to play Dead or no Deal. That game sounds awesome.
El Verde @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:29PM
Came into the comments to see if anyone else noticed. You win!
ChooChooCharlie @ Dec 2nd 2008 7:31PM
Just wanted to let you know that I voted both of you down because your comments made me sad.
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Dec 2nd 2008 11:34PM
@choochoo
And I voted you up because you made me laugh.
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Dec 2nd 2008 6:50PM
Does this mean there'll be a "week in games: crappy garfield game edition" @ the end of the month?
Mr Khan @ Dec 2nd 2008 7:20PM
Rygar does look interesting. If there's one weak genre on Wii, it's action games
Sarge @ Dec 3rd 2008 4:07PM
I played through the PS2 version of the game, and enjoyed it tremendously. After finally getting around to playing one of the God of War games (Chains of Olympus), my original suspicions were pretty much confirmed: GoW is Rygar with blood and boobies.
Of course, you can expect some horrible story and voice acting out of Rygar, but none of it gets in the way of an excellent action-adventure game.
Dang, now I'M tempted into playing through it again.
tmacairjordan87 @ Dec 2nd 2008 8:05PM
I'll rent prince of persia this month probably. It's way too easy and short to spend $60 on.
Neuromancer @ Dec 3rd 2008 10:57AM
You like em hard and long huh?
Adam H. @ Dec 2nd 2008 8:44PM
holy crap it's almost 2009?!
Pedobear @ Dec 2nd 2008 9:24PM
I'm looking forward to importing Gundam Musou 2 this month myself.
Kaioh @ Dec 2nd 2008 10:48PM
No love for Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories?
Sure, its a port, but I have seen tons of ports listed before.
Si @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:39AM
Anyone else notice the big grassy deer type thing looks a lot like the Forest Spirit from Princess Mononoke?
Platy @ Dec 3rd 2008 11:01AM
What ?
No Tatsunoko VS Capcom love?
