We don't think we're being too controversial when we say that Harry Potter has never been at the center of a high-quality game. It would make sense then that, according to a CVG report, The Boy Who Lived could be brickitized for a Lego adventure à la Batman and Indiana Jones. Heck, something has to work eventually, right?
No further details were reported by CVG, but we imagine you can probably fill in the blanks yourself. Here's hoping the boy wizard works better in game form when he's two inches tall.

A Lego Halo would be awesome, but it's hardly a kid friendly franchise. Plus is there really any need to make a Lego game based on a videogame liscence? It would pretty much be the same thing, but with Lego.
And since they only make the games based on actual Lego products, that limits them even more. Harry Potter, Clone Wars and a sequel to Indiana Jones is pretty much all the have left.
I don't think they'll do another Star Wars game just yet, so Harry Potter is almost definite.. And unlike Indiana Jones and Batman, it'd work for this type of game really well.

1) Lego games are boring and hard. Yes, hard. Not hard as is in "intentionally difficult challenges," but in "poorly designed levels."
2) Lego Halos would own all.
3) I just wanted to make another bullet point in support of Lego Halo.
4) Lego Halo would probably outsell games in the main Halo franchise.

Even though they are all pretty much the same, the Lego games are better than almost all licensed games.

I actually think this is a good idea. Lego Indy and Batman got boring because they relied too much on standard punching and kicking with characters that were hardly different, rather than cool shit like lightsabers and the force in star wars.
At least this is headed back in that direction somewhat.

My problem with the Indy and Batman games were really just the characters. Star Wars worked really well because there was hundreds of characters, even in story mode you'd always be switching aound, so you'd have Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, or Han and Chewie..
There'd pretty much always be someone you want to play as, even with a second player there. But with Indiana Jones, you didn't really care about anyone but Indy and the second player would always be screwed.
Batman was slightly better thanks to the villians, but there was only 20 or so characters in the whole game, compared to Star Wars' 160.

Don't knock the Lego games till you tried them. Lego Star Wars was pretty good, but Lego Indiana Jones is easily the best of them. One of my favorite games of 08. Lego Batman is also pretty good, also 3x as long with the added villain levels.
To just think the games are mindless kiddy stuff would be wrong. Very entertaining, satisfying games.

I loved the Complete Saga, I'd even consider it one of my favourite games ever. Lego Indy was pretty solid too, but I have to disagree with you about Batman.
It was very poorly designed, there's very few characters even when compared to Indy, the vehicle levels are complete reskins from the previous games and even though you can unlock more vehicles to use for them, there's no point since they don't have the abilities you need to progress through them.. So really you can't use them.
An although there's the Hero and Villian side here, each chapter in Batman only has 5 levels, and the levels are far shorter. It's easily the smallest of the Lego games. It just lacked a lot of the charm and appeal of the previous ones..

Does anyone still give a crap about Harry Potter??? I think Lego Halo would be cool. Especially with multiplayer. Imagine a sword fight where you buddy ends up a pile of blocks.

I might actually buy another Lego game. I loved the Star Wars ones but the others seemed like the same kind of thing.
I hope they make this one an open world game or in some way non-linear considering that most of the saga takes place in the school.
