The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf headed to Xbox 360

Developer CD Projekt has informed Joystiq that a console version of its action-RPG The Witcher is currently in development for the Xbox 360. The console version -- now subtitled Rise of the White Wolf -- will feature reworked and streamlined controls, while the games story elements are apparently unchanged. The game will use a new engine, which will include new character models, animations, and a more dynamic combat system. The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf is scheduled to arrive in Fall 2009.

Sounds great, the graphics seems to look very good too. Never played before but I love RPG so I hope it's good.

I actually held back with buying the original version because my hardware was too weak at the time. Then when the Enhanced Edition came out I knew it would run on my newer system, but still not in high detail, at the same time there were rumors that CDP was working on a console version, so I decided to wait a little longer as I just bought X360 a couple of months ago.
Lo and behold, the news has arrived! :D I'm actually very happy with the generally favorable reviews and good word from people about that game, because I'm also a Pole and to tell the truth Poland was not known for good computer games. ;) Now People Can Fly made Gears of War PC and CD Projekt released The Witcher... Maybe something will change.
Besides The Witcher saga is one of the best fantasy books I ever read and I consider Andrzej Sapkowski the best Polish fantasy writer and one of the best in the world (my other favorites are George R.R. Martin, Steven Erikson, Scott Lynch, Robert Jordan - so you know what kind of writing I like). I urge you to pick up the books and read them, it's not the same story as in the game.

It'll be on Playstation 3 too, so why isn't it mentioned on ps3fanboy.com?

How racist. Why does it have to be a white wolf?

Apparently because Geralt has totally white hair due to his mutation (he is not old). Actually the books deal with racism a lot (I don't know how this looks in game) but on a species level - humans hate elves and vice versa. It's a mature material definitely.

Since no one else is going to say it, I will: there will most likely be no nudie card collecting.
There, 40% of the people who were vaguely interested no longer are.
