Wii's Deadly Creatures delayed until February 2009
We regret to inform you there will be fewer (well, fewer than usual) creepy crawlies under the tree this holiday season as IGN reports that THQ's Wii-exclusive Deadly Creatures has scurried underground until February 2009.
The delay marks the second for the eight-legged action title, which was originally scheduled to ship in October and then again in mid-December, though like a radioactive cockroach it simply refuses to die. Hopefully the extra time will give the developers a chance to improve on what we played earlier this year. Until then, we'll be replacing the game on our Christmas lists with some much needed bug spray.

Vaguely familiar... but can't quite put my finger on it...

Well, now all that's left this Christmas season is Mushroom Men and from the review scores posted on Metacritic, it isn't looking to be as good as I'd hoped, but still looks decent enough for a purchase. At least I have yet to purchase Boom Blox, Battalion Wars, and de Blob. Plus, I have a ton of PC games I need to get.

I think IGN said in one of the more recent previews that the combat at least had been completely overhauled since Joystiq's last impressions. Either way, this game has mediocre written all over. We'll see when it comes out: and if I'm wrong, all the better for us all.

To me it did indeed look like it would end up to be mediocre, just with how odd it seemed. So I agree with you on that, however it really looks like they were going after something different here so I'll give them some credit for that.

Why exactly does this game have mediocre written all over it? Seems like something at least somewhat refreshing.

This is actually kind of encouraging. Perhaps this will have more substance than WWF... as it's been compared to.

At least the Wii has a solid blockbuster winter lineup to make up for it.

Woe be to the friend who has to play the ladybug.

"I call tarantula!"
