World at War back on top in the UK
16
It seems like the United Kingdom just can't get enough of Call of Duty: World at War, as the game is at the top of the all platforms chart once again. Need for Speed Undercover sits at number 2 despite some mixed reviews. FIFA 09, unsurprisingly, is performing well and is the regions third best selling title. Tomb Raider: Underworld is also maintaining strong sales, jumping from number 9 to number 7 since last week. Sadly, other titles, most notably Left 4 Dead don't seem to be performing terribly well in the UK, with the co-op zombie shooter falling all the way down to 34. Finally, if, like us, you've been on pins and needles wondering how Sonic's latest outing has fared in the UK, you should know that Sonic Unleashed failed to crack the top 40 on the multi-platform chart. It did, however, manage to land at number 23 on the Xbox specific chart.

I think L4D isn't selling that well because lots of shops aren't stocking it!
On release day I went into Blockbuster, and they said the only ordered 3 copies (which all sold almost instantly) because they didn't think it would be that good.
Sainsburys (where I usually get new release games from) aren't stocking it at all, and lots of other retailers either aren't stocking it or are sold out...

I still think that WaW took a step in the wrong direction. COD4 is still the number one COD in my book.

IMO L4D is much better than WaW. I really did not like the direction Treyarch took WaW. The online just seems out of wack.
My opinion!!!!

grrr uk gamers (majority) have AWFUL taste in games, having a top 3 that are incredibly mediocre titles just goes to prove this.
(I am from Manchester, UK btw, and all I have bought in the past couple of months is Fallout3 and LBP :p)

i have no idea why anyone whould even play it.
i played about 5mins of the game & the frame rate issues rendered the game unplayable for me.
plus the game is just plin boring! you just do the same shit again & again.
£40 for NFS: Piece of Shit, no thx EA, you can keep it.
Obviously they'll keep pumping a new one out every 6months as so many ppl leep buying it.

It's called advertising. Despite what you may realize the majority of console owners don't browse sites like these, Don't look at reviews and instead just buy what looks cool.
NFS is heavily advertised in the UK thus it sells. Left 4 dead is not.
It's just chavs and kids that lap it up and sadly there the majority.

L4D not advertised in the UK? That's surprising (and stoopid), I just came back from a business trip to Paris and I was surprised to notice HUGE advertisements for L4D on the Airport-City train route.
