Surprisingly, two PSN games will be getting Trophy patches in the immediate future. Blast Factor, one of the earliest PSN games, will be getting a patch which adds DualShock 3 support and Trophy support. The game and its expansions will get 25 Trophies, although there's no word on what the Trophies are (yet!). The patch will be available for free tomorrow. Those that don't have the game will be able to buy it off the PlayStation Store for $10, or $13 with both add-ons.
echochrome will also receive Trophy support, although a date hasn't been revealed. You can check out the Trophy list for this puzzle game here. The recently released Brain Challenge also has Trophy support.
Those that have been following the Trophy Portal may have also noticed we've stealthily added a few other games and guides. Check out our Warhawk and Buzz! Quiz TV guides, if you haven't yet.

I think it is awesome that these older titles are still getting supported in this manner. Hopefully my one of my favorite PSN game, Everyday Shooter, will get patched with it one day.

This is a bit peculiar, seeing as devs have stated that they didn't want to go back in and make trophy patches due to the time = money situation. BLAST FACTOR is getting trophies? Wow. Insomniac, where's our R&C and Resistance patches? It's likely that you guys make a bit more revenue from R&C, R1, R2, and R&C expansion, not to mention R1 DLC, than the Blast Factor guys do off their PSN title, so why rub us the wrong way?
It's EVEN MORE annoying when they refuse to do trophy patches when there are already stat-tracking and rewards/medal systems in place in the games. It would be easy to just tie in trophies to each of those. A great example is Uncharted. (sans the medal alert icon and trophy icon overlapping)

i think there going on the success of SSHD, think about it how many went out and brought it at the time as it was the only title to support trophies...
i doubt these will be as successfull as SSHD, but you can bet trophy whores who would have never brought these games will now

IMO all games should be patched to get trophies. And if games like Blast Factor, Echochrome can be patched, as well as AAA list title like Uncharted, then really there's no reason why other titles can't, especially titles like R1 and R&C which already have some kind of skill point system similar to trophies already instituted. Come on devs. Patch away.

You DO realize that Insomniac only recently came out with R2 right? Which means they've been busy trying to perfect it and are still working on patches to make it better for everyone? It's not like it they can just get a guy to say "Let there be trophies" and all is done. NO. It takes time and money, resources that Insomniac felt would be better spent on perfecting R2. Not to mention half of their team was also working on Quest for Booty a while back and no doubt they're already working on the next R&C.
I don't see the devs for any of these games that have been patched doing what Insomniac's been doing. And only just recently did Naughty Dog confirm that Uncharted 2 existed. They had time to go back and patch the first one.
Besides, would trophies in these games that you've already played really make that much of a difference? "Take 10,000 steps while playing stages" - echochrome (congradufuckinglation! You played the game! Wooohooo?) I'm also really surprised at how many people praised the Uncharted trophy patch when all it did was give you another set of pixels for the same rewards that the game already gave you originally.

Patching small games like Blast Factor and Echochrome is way different than patching retail games like Resistance and Ratchet and Clank. Also, I think there is far more upside for these small developers to patch their PSN games as it is easier for someone to drop $10 on a PSN game than it is for someone to drop $30-60 on these older games.

Uh...nowhere did I say they have to patch games tonight. Yes Imsoniac must have been working hard to finalize the game, but now that they're done, there's no harm in them going back to two excellent titles. Some people are lured by trophies, get those gamers in by patching some past titles. That's all I asked for. Not much IMO.

I'd rather the High Velocity Bowling update that the US has had for over two months........
You know, the one that brings trophies AND online play, as well as enhancements to the options (being able to increase the music volume from inaudible to audible, being one).
