This might be one of the weirdest ads we've ever seen, to tell the truth. Much like those awesome ads for the Sega Saturn starring Segata Sanshiro, we see potential for many more commercials starring the man above, whether they are for de Blob or not. Watch and try to believe this is happening.
de Blob advertised in very strange way in Japan

But.. what does it have to do with de Blob?

If THQ cries about de Blob not selling on Wii, then I think I can point out to them why. Seriously, if I saw this commerical without any previous knowledge of the game I would forever hate THQ and Nintendo (for allowing them to make such a moronic commercial involving their system.) Anyway, I'm going to go rub feces on my eyes to clear my vision of this mess.

you do realize this is for the japanese audience. Its not so weird to see these type of commercials there. So dont go hating nintendo or even THQ for trying in japan. there are many (i mean many) commericals that are just not suited for the western audience.
I thought it was interesting.

My face warped like 100 times through the video, what was the director injecting, smoking or drinking. Hell i want some, it probably will give me magic trips to awesome places.

Are you sure you haven't been had? What does that have to do with the game?

He's a pretty good dancer, haha.
But I agree with some of the others. This really has nothing to do with de Blob. Unless the lyrics say something about the game, this commercial makes no sense. =)

ok. I used to be a ballet teacher, and ummm, he's good. Very good. So good I can see where he is pulling back technique to dumb it down.
not entirely sure how this relates to the wii. But then again, I'm not japanese

This is why no one takes Japan seriously anymore.

Annhhhhh.... wait until brain restarts.
Ok... huh...
Well, the guy is a pretty good dancer, and may atract some buyers. I guess.
He'll not have success advertising Wii Fit, however.

He looks just like the "Star Wars Kid".

You know, considering his size, and the ridiculous costume and bad haircut, I was impressed. He is a great dancer and very graceful. The video didn't have anything to do with de Blob, but I still appreciate it for what it was. I thought the glasses sliding off his nose at the end was a nice touch. I guess I don't have the attitude of the typical American gamer, so sue me... but I have respect for the skill behind good ballet (even in the bizzarest of contexts).

Yeah... I just don't see the relevance.

First off, it's too long to be a commercial in the sense of something that airs on TV. Second, it's a full on music video probably for a de Blob image song. Hey, it worked for Pikmin.
It's certainly entertaining but I bet dollars to donuts (which may actually be the more recognized currency these days) that this is not the extent of the Japanese ad campaign for de Blob.

I showed this ad to my 12 yo daughter who's an otaku and she said they mentioned "de blob" in the lyrics. She didn't really understand the lyrics but she thinks she heard it.
Maybe it's an ad showing how it feels to play or buy de blob?

I watched that whole clip in anticipation. I was waiting for colored paint to start streaking along with his arm and leg movements, but it never happened. Now I'm angry at de Blob, somehow.
