I'm surprised @ those obscure Nirvana songs. I spouse Activision assumed that anybody who's into DLC is also hardcore enough to have both RB and GH so there's no point repeating same songs...
Kizzle @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:28PM
Sliver and You Know You're Right are not anywhere near obscure, both were singles that got quite a bit of airplay.
muddyhelmit @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:29PM
They are not obscure if you were into the 90's alternative/grunge scene.
(The Award-Winning) dark_inchworm @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:53PM
That's a surprisingly good Nirvana track pack. Not to say that I highly dislike any Nirvana, or that Nevermind sucked. I simply didn't expect them to pull out material *not* from Nevermind.
T @ Dec 3rd 2008 3:57PM
And how many of GHWT's target audience were into the 90's alternative/grunge scene?
Maybe I have heard these songs...but just not what they were called. But as it stands they lose points on the "name recognition" scale.
Which is odd, because going by the setlist (or at least most of the GHWT setlist) you'd have thought that's what they were aiming for.
J @ Dec 3rd 2008 3:00PM
I'm a negative creep and I'm stoned...
Jakka ( The Order of Haters of Balance) @ Dec 3rd 2008 3:57PM
Maybe, but for anybody who's only remotely interested in Nirvana anything aside from Nevermind tracks IS OBSCURE.
Which is why I honestly thought they'd slap a song from that album if only for recognition.
zero2dash @ Dec 3rd 2008 4:46PM
@ Jakka
"Maybe, but for anybody who's only remotely interested in Nirvana anything aside from Nevermind tracks IS OBSCURE."
Uhh...no.
Incesticide may not have had much airplay, but In Utero had Heart-Shaped Box, Rape Me, and All Apologies. (the latter of which was more popular after the MTV Unplugged in NY album came out, which also created buzz for About a Girl off of Bleach)
agentflashx @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:14PM
The Smashing Pumpkins set is tempting..
Levi @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:15PM
Not planning on ever getting GHWT, but I have to say, the addition of Negative Creep gets mega plus points from me.
Sidebuster @ Dec 3rd 2008 4:08PM
Same here on the mega thumbs up. =
Now if they add "Love Buzz"
baby sea tuna @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:20PM
Sliver and Negative Creep would bring the total of GH:WT songs I'm interested in up to like 8. Still not enough to buy it, but enough that I'm sort of paying attention.
mike jones @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:24PM
you young idiots, no one is interested in the Eagles tracks, GH has exclusive deal with Eagles and these are 3 great tracks...you young tween punks make me sick
Kizzle @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:29PM
Zzzzzz.
baby sea tuna @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:36PM
I had another response typed out but I think Kizzle captured what I was trying to say much more succinctly.
bill51 @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:36PM
I'm a 'young idiot' who's been an Eagle's fan for years. Good music is good music.
AoE @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:36PM
And get off mike's lawn!
Levi @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:40PM
Levi: Jesus, man, can you change the station?
Mike Jones: Fuck you man! You don't like my fucking music, get your own fucking cab!
Lev: I've had a...
Mike Jones: I pull over and kick your ass out, man!
Levi: ...had a rough night, and I hate the fucking Eagles, man.
I'll kindly get off your lawn now, sir .
Levi @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:46PM
For what it's worth, the one Eagles song that I actually do like is One of These Nights.
Eli Gundry @ Dec 3rd 2008 10:36PM
As a young dude that is very much into classic rock, I can honestly say that the Eagles are the only band that makes me ill when they come on. Too mainstream.
The dude abides.
Kizzle @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:28PM
Negative Creep is fine to listen to, but I can't imagine it being fun to play. Too much repetition. Sliver and You Know You're Right are ok, but Rock Band still has the Nirvana crown.
zlickrick @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:37PM
How bout some Led Zeppelin or some Queen tracks?...I mean if car commercials can afford them Im sure GH can...
Patio @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:31PM
Yeah, no crap. Those are the two bands ive been patiently waiting to play on either RB or GH. Now im just getting pissed.
xGeneral DEATHx (Mr ESC Welcome Back Party Ultimate Mega Action Force) @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:54PM
One Vision, Show Must Go On, and of course:
HEEEEEEERE WE ARE
BORRRRN TO BE KINGS
WE'RE THE PRINCES OF THE UNIVERRRRSE...
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
ravishi @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:47PM
slightly stoopid and pepper are some of my favorite bands! and they are free? shazam. i wouldn't call them reggae rock though
xlockstockx @ Dec 3rd 2008 10:16PM
HELLLSSS YEAH!!! slightly stoopid, expendables AND PEPPER!!! pepper is my all time fav band, and "your face" is my all time fav pepper song!!! and they are reggae rock...not pepper so much...but thats the scene yo. oh my god, ive never been into the music games...and id like to support rock band more...but i cannot pass this up...im getting this game.
joeymoto @ Dec 3rd 2008 1:49PM
Bring some 'Between the Buried And Me' and then I'd actually buy this game.
zombiejesus @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:04PM
None of those Eagles songs even sound good for dlc sure Life in the Fast Lane but what about Takin it Easy? SP pack sounds good but I think Rockband picked better DLC in that area with Zero. I wish one of them would get a Blue Oyster Cult pack man that would be awesome to play!
Teege @ Dec 3rd 2008 4:05PM
I don't know about you, but I'm short the necessary fake plastic cowbell needed for Blue Oyster Cult DLC.
Tiptup300 @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:13PM
I'm kind of happy here, I wouldn't want any of those Smashing Pumpkin songs on Rock Band. Well, 1979 is one of my favorites, but I don't think it would be a fun song to play at all.
Now, Bury Me or Geek USA is another question.
Tez @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:22PM
Slightly Stoopid is a killer band! And free? Can't wait.
Levi @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:45PM
For what it's worth, the one Eagles song that I actually do like is One of These Nights.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:54PM
Pretty decent stuff.
oolz @ Dec 3rd 2008 2:56PM
huge pumpkins fan, but none of those tracks interest me.
Nirvana tracks are so so generic Nirvana, no must haves.
one of the Eagles tracks is a must buy... well, it would be if I owned or would ever own GHWT...
free is nice though.
Kyera @ Dec 3rd 2008 3:12PM
Mixed feelings on Eagles and SP, no clue on the freebies, and the Nirvana pack is pretty nice.
Guess I'll start keeping an eye out for a cheap used copy. :)
busydoingnothing @ Dec 3rd 2008 3:40PM
FUCK! So I've put it off and put it off, convinced myself that Rock Band 2 is enough, but NOW, *NOW* I have to get GTWT. You Know You're Right and Negative Creep, two of my favorite Nirvana songs? Damn you, Activision!
Maybe they'll be released for Rock Band 2? ...maybe?
ChiTownRuler23 @ Dec 3rd 2008 3:56PM
probaly download the smashing pumpkins track pack along with the nirvana one also but i wish they would release "lithium" "come as you are" "heart shaped box" and "marijuana" those songs are the shit
thatnewguy @ Feb 10th 2009 4:26PM
"Heart-Shaped Box" was in Guitar Hero 2, but the other ones are good choices. I really like "Lithium".
kaneda @ Dec 3rd 2008 4:54PM
anyone else see "free reggae rock" as "fraggle rock" when viewed in their peripheral?
SKI @ Dec 3rd 2008 5:07PM
Can you start using a different pic?
ToRo @ Dec 12th 2008 12:47AM
Lmao! The penis ship lives on!
