Guitar Hero World Tour Dec. DLC: The Eagles, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins & free reggae rock

Activision has released the December DLC set list for Guitar Hero World Tour featuring four consecutive weeks of releases (that's a certified streak!). And did we mention the reggae rock is free? Let's ~~smoke~~ toast to that! Details below -- music videos after the break.

I'm surprised @ those obscure Nirvana songs. I spouse Activision assumed that anybody who's into DLC is also hardcore enough to have both RB and GH so there's no point repeating same songs...

Sliver and You Know You're Right are not anywhere near obscure, both were singles that got quite a bit of airplay.

They are not obscure if you were into the 90's alternative/grunge scene.

That's a surprisingly good Nirvana track pack. Not to say that I highly dislike any Nirvana, or that Nevermind sucked. I simply didn't expect them to pull out material *not* from Nevermind.

And how many of GHWT's target audience were into the 90's alternative/grunge scene?

Maybe I have heard these songs...but just not what they were called. But as it stands they lose points on the "name recognition" scale.

Which is odd, because going by the setlist (or at least most of the GHWT setlist) you'd have thought that's what they were aiming for.

Which is why I honestly thought they'd slap a song from that album if only for recognition.

Incesticide may not have had much airplay, but In Utero had Heart-Shaped Box, Rape Me, and All Apologies. (the latter of which was more popular after the MTV Unplugged in NY album came out, which also created buzz for About a Girl off of Bleach)

The Smashing Pumpkins set is tempting..

Not planning on ever getting GHWT, but I have to say, the addition of Negative Creep gets mega plus points from me.

Sliver and Negative Creep would bring the total of GH:WT songs I'm interested in up to like 8. Still not enough to buy it, but enough that I'm sort of paying attention.

For what it's worth, the one Eagles song that I actually do like is One of These Nights.

As a young dude that is very much into classic rock, I can honestly say that the Eagles are the only band that makes me ill when they come on. Too mainstream.

Negative Creep is fine to listen to, but I can't imagine it being fun to play. Too much repetition. Sliver and You Know You're Right are ok, but Rock Band still has the Nirvana crown.

How bout some Led Zeppelin or some Queen tracks?...I mean if car commercials can afford them Im sure GH can...

slightly stoopid and pepper are some of my favorite bands! and they are free? shazam. i wouldn't call them reggae rock though

HELLLSSS YEAH!!! slightly stoopid, expendables AND PEPPER!!! pepper is my all time fav band, and "your face" is my all time fav pepper song!!! and they are reggae rock...not pepper so much...but thats the scene yo. oh my god, ive never been into the music games...and id like to support rock band more...but i cannot pass this up...im getting this game.

Bring some 'Between the Buried And Me' and then I'd actually buy this game.

None of those Eagles songs even sound good for dlc sure Life in the Fast Lane but what about Takin it Easy? SP pack sounds good but I think Rockband picked better DLC in that area with Zero. I wish one of them would get a Blue Oyster Cult pack man that would be awesome to play!

I don't know about you, but I'm short the necessary fake plastic cowbell needed for Blue Oyster Cult DLC.

I'm kind of happy here, I wouldn't want any of those Smashing Pumpkin songs on Rock Band. Well, 1979 is one of my favorites, but I don't think it would be a fun song to play at all.

Now, Bury Me or Geek USA is another question.

Slightly Stoopid is a killer band! And free? Can't wait.

Mixed feelings on Eagles and SP, no clue on the freebies, and the Nirvana pack is pretty nice.

probaly download the smashing pumpkins track pack along with the nirvana one also but i wish they would release "lithium" "come as you are" "heart shaped box" and "marijuana" those songs are the shit

"Heart-Shaped Box" was in Guitar Hero 2, but the other ones are good choices. I really like "Lithium".
