I only know two people who bought the Orange Box at retail. The other 6 bought it on Steam. I wouldn't be too surprised if the steam numbers were lower than retail, but I would be shocked if there was a huge difference.

Thats less than what I thought. Don't like GM anyways. Just a paid-for front end for the SDK.

The Half Life family of games(that includes all of those listed, CS DoD, Garry's,Portal, L4D, etc..) are the best of the best as far as FPS's are concerned, period. It's why PC Gamers hold their noses up so high, and can you really blame them?

The best thing is, ANYONE can play these games if they haven't, becuase Valve(like Blizzard) makes PC Games that run on everything. So, even the hardcore console folks who like trashing the PC as a platform can play Valve games, and Blizzard games...etc..Really, the best on PC is available to EVERYONE.....a nice little fact I think most people rarely bring up.

Oh, and I would almost double most of those numbers, maybe triple a few of them since the STEAM numbers aren't included. This is why Valve is beholden to retail still, even with STEAM, they must cow tow to their concerns, it's why prices are the same and DRM etc..soon though, almost everything on PC will be bought online, it's happening every year, and the PC platform is leading the way.
