Metal Gear Solid 4, Crisis Core receive Gold PlayStation Awards

This year's PlayStation recipients: Senior citizen stealth sim Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots; pointy-haired sword swinger Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII; and Sega's Phantasy Star Portable, which we failed to include in the headline. Similarly snubbed but given a fancy "Platinum" award was Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, which sold over two million copies and completely messed up our Japanese hardware sales charts.

best graphics in a game that i have seen yet.
smooth play with no glitches, very well done.
very detailed graphics esp with hair, smoke, etc.
most data put onto a game yet.
my fav ps3 game by far.

It would be mine, but for the lack of trophies.
I'm not a trophy whore, but they do actually make the game more fun. They make you do things other than simply playing through the story or playing the same way over again. Things like destroying a Dropship with binoculars in WarHawk, or getting 15 bombs in Bomber mode on Super Stardust.
After playing through the story, I found MGS4 to have limited re-playability. Trophies would really help that. Lord knows why Konami doesn't take the time to add them.

I, for one, would not like to have 'Trophy Unlocked!' flash up during the brilliantly immersive gameplay in MGS4 in much the same way I would not like my parents to applaud me every so often during masturbation.

yeah i thought it would be weird that not # 1 multi platform game was on that list.
especially when they have sold millions of copies.
but this list is only games that sold well in JAPAN only.
gta4, cod4 wouldnt make that list.

Sounds like you haven't watched many good films. Personally I like films that don't fluff out the good content and add so much needless filler and dialogue.
That MGS4 movie needed an editor.

I'm expecting another sequel to the monster hunter 2nd G franchise in Japan for psp because of its huge success.
