@BananaBoat

The aiming is slow. It's much, much slower than other games. You can adjust the sensitivity, but don't expect something like ... Left4Dead. The way you move encourages you to go a bit slower than other games, and take a bit more cover. You'll have to be pretty smart with your weapons as well. It won't be to everyone's liking, that's for sure.

It might be hard to get used to slow aiming after a lifetime of precision twitch aiming =/

Oh well, I'll find out for myself when the game comes out. Thanks.

Somehow I broke firefox by playing the youtube videos simultaneously (apparently breaking the flash limit that flash has implemented for god knows what reason) and managed to block the crucial bit of text where you had already explained how the aiming was slow compared to other FPS games.

It's completely off topic...but adobe can't make a proper flash plug-in, or a proper PDF reader. How many times must Adobe give thanks per day to the guy that came up with the idea for photoshop? Oy.

Anywho, thanks again.

6-10 HOURS. Well, that does it for me!

I've never bought a game that took less than 12 hours to finish. Anything less than 12 hours is more like a minigame or something. I remember playing Luigis Mansion and taking 10 hours to finish it and i was very very disapointed. Thats the real achilles heel of these ZOMGFTW HD Graphics. They take up so much space that no developer can fit a length game in there. I've heard Fable 2 is lengthy with side-quests so i'll get that for sure but it's quite pathetic how short games are these days. Even after playing games for over 2 decades, it still took me 35 hours to finish Twilight Princess, 20 hours to finish Super Paper Mario and 30 hours to finish Metroid Prime 3. Thats the sort of length i want to see, and from what i've seen of a lot of HD games, they lack a LOT in length.

Hey Foetoid, if you don't want to play a game shorter than 10 hours stick to your RPGs... As each of the games you mentioned loving are in fact RPGs/Adventure games.

Foe, you need to keep in mind that a FPS game has more meat to it because of the MP aspects. People can get 100's+ hours in MP to enjoy the game. Yet an RPG is generally a SP affair, and would need to be much larger for people to not feel screwed. Plus, a FPS is clearly not as story driven as an RPG. (Which you seem to like playing from that post.)

Anyway, I am super excited for this game. I expect it to be great. The screens look very nice and the pacing sounds good as well. Though I think that some of the rants about it above are silly and desperate.

Killjebus, you are always looking for some kind of trump over everyone to make them see that the PS3 is a godlike machine - as always, you stretch too far.

"But but....the terrible A.I. where o where did it go?

C'mon haters....hate this game...I triple dog dare you."

Read the whole article again, and don't try so hard to find a fight in it. The AI problem he talked about - see it in there? Sorry, but nothing is perfect. Yet the whole article was very positive about the game and you still are bothered.

Why is a wii fanboy here trying to troll? A 6 hour game, while short, is better than nothing coming out to play (which I believe would be a 0 hour game, I'm not sure though since I don't have much experience with this "not playing anything" game).

When an FPS gets too long I just want it to be over already. e.g. Far Cry 2 and Resistance.

Are there really creative uses for Sixaxis throughout or does it stagnate after the first few and keep repeating them? I don't really mind if it does, as long as a main function isn't done with tilt.

The SIXAXIS is hit/miss. Turning a lever is really unintuitive, but only happens 2-3 times in the game. Placing a bomb is actually very fun. You tilt the controller left and right. It's fast, and doesn't feel awkward. Sniping is really the best use of the tilt controls.

I have a question...

Are there any moments when you are by yourself instead of being with a squad? Are there any stealth opportunities in which the Helghan don't know you are there?

This game looks very promising, and to be honest, I never expected any less.

You do get separated from your squad quite a bit. They always manage to get ahead of you, to show you which way to go. Don't expect stealth. There are way too many enemies.

So I guess the enemies automatically "snap to" you like in COD4 & WAW...

Or is it like Farcry 2 when they see you, it takes awhile for it to register...then they shoot at you?

The enemies aren't necessarily going to fight you. They can be focused on your squad, other ISA soldiers. It's not you vs. the world.

I guess my question is more general. But like the folks over a gametrailers always mention in thier podcasts and GT shows, what is the *hook* to this game? Halo has MC and the has created an identity, COD has it's identity and is known for its frantic *realisitc* approach to FPSs, half-life has it's hooks, gears has it's own style, and of course...chainsaws...so what's Killzone's?

what makes killzone *killzone* i guess is what I'm asking.

Have you found it yet? or is it a mixture of a few of the other titles mentioned? i notice you mention COD in your preview...hope this question is clear enough.

I like CoD4 a lot. I wouldn't all it realistic. You sure mow down a lot of people.

I'd say it isn't realistic compared to Ghost Recon (I don't mean GRAW) for example.

Andrew, could you elaborate a bit more about "The shotgun, for example, could be a bit more powerful"? For what it has been shown on some videos (including this one http://www.gamersyde.com/stream_9626_en.html) that it is rather powerful

Also, there have been complaints that Visari Square now looks empty when compared to the previous previews in which it looks rather chaotic, is it true?

The shotgun's range is incredibly limited. Its lethality comes from being very close range, and usually aiming for the head. Perhaps that's a more realistic depiction of a shotgun, but other games have much more powerful blasts.

In regards to how "crowded" things get, it really depends on which build of the game they're running. I have one that's about a month old, and another one that just came in today. There's a huge difference in the newer build.

After watching that footage I kinda wish the guy playing would use his sights more, but it still looked great (I'll definitely be upping the sensitivity when I play though).

And yes, this game does beg for co-op. Either way, I can't wait. Hey Sony, how about a Christmas demo?

There have been a multitude of reasons to get a PS3, this is just another in the line. It's a shame for Sony it was not out the day Gears2 was released, as it would have crushed it, but the bottom line is, if you gonna buy a PS3 for this, you might as well get a PS3 now and start catching up on all the great stuff you have missed out on. Drakes Fortune is a fantastic buy at it's current price, as is Resistace1, Ratchet and Clank, SuperStardustHD.

If I were little Johnny opening a 360 on Xmas morning, knowing this monster was just around the corner, I would be pretty upset.

Agreed, it's kind of annoying how everytime a great PS3 exclusive comes around people say "i'm buying the PS3 just for this one game" as if the PS3 doesn't already have great games.

@Stew Do you really think that this game will put up Gear 2 numbers? It looks fantastic, but realisticly it doesn't have a chance. It may put up Fable 2 numbers first week but don't go crazy with numbers to much... you'll end up like all those fool on VGChartz who predicted that LBP would sell 2 million first week. BTW if you are not a member yet you'll feel right at home there... go make an account.

The PS3 has good games but I bought mine for GOW3 so plenty of people buy systems for one game....And there is no way in hell this game is putting up Gears Numbers (5 million) please....Don't get ahead of yourself those numbers don't meet the demographic of the system....Sony owners in the U play GT, in Japan they play RPG's and the highest selling game in the states for the system is Motor Storm, Killzone might do 750K-1million that's all I see for it...Either way Im buying it

I have a PS3 and this is the first retail that has me salivating. Well, I lie. LBP had me doing the same until I played it and was letdown. Wipeout HD is still my favorite title on the console so far... I just hope this game is as impressive as Gears 2 (story, setting, etc. Gfx already seem to be great).

You act like Gears 2 numbers are something impressive. It's only at like 2 million last I knew, and seeing as how hyped killzone 2 is and how impressive it's looking I have no doubts it will cruise past that number relatively fast (specially if it comes out around the time of a ps3 price cut).

When has a Sony related game ever(literally) outdone a 360 game in sales and getting the public's attention? You need to face facts that, this 'crushing' thing you keep talking about, only exists on the net. I'm not trying to sound like a turd here, but I honestly don't see this game selling phenomenally. LBP was supposed to outsell every game on the 360 and be the best thing ever made.. and we saw how that came out.

I sincerely doubt KZ2 would hold a candle to Gears 2's popularity had it launched at the same time. GOW2 was the most anticipated release of the year, regardless of its competition at launch day.

I, like most of the consumer world, am still skeptical that Killzone 2 will deliver. Sure it looks beautiful, but I fear its gameplay will get lost in the myriad of other first person shooters out there.

Andrew's post has definitely got me interested, however.
