Didn't this game 'JUST' come out?

I'm usually against the 'OMG, THEY REMOVED IT FROM THE GAME TO PUT IT ON DLC' crowd, but seriously....

The fuuniest is that words from Sony PR:
Sony UK boss on DLC: "Nothing is ever exclusive"
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/11/02/sony-uk-exec-on-dlc-nothing-is-ever-exclusive/

that Sony fanboys interpreted as "DLC for GTA4 will come out on PS3 too!11!"

were about "Sony's exclusive Mirrors Edge DLC"
LOL.

This game came with PLENTY of time trial and speed run levels.

I'd agree with you if the time trial levels were clearly gimped, but this is simply releasing content really quick, not removing. Why sit on these levels for months if they're done?

Will we get a Scat version of the Super Mario Bros. Above Ground Theme in that first shot? That level looks wicked!

I love the Mirror's Edge time trials, but I don't think this heavily abstracted version is for me. Part of the fun is doing it in a (semi) realistic environment. Maybe they will release a "premium" version of this DLC with actual, y'know, textures 'n stuff.

Is there something I'm missing? Where does a rat come into all of this? (You can see him in the blogpost's picture, and 0:22 into the video).

It's a running "thing" in the game. Every now and again as you're running through the game, a rat strays by your path.

Kind of like the whole "Cake is a lie" meme.

So from this article I come to understand that anti-aliasing is an exclusive feature in the 360 version? What happened PS3?

Yes
2x AA is only on X360:

Not to mention lack of some SOFT shadows on PS3:

http://i435.photobucket.com/albums/qq72/Jurassek/MECienie121.jpg

Also a little screen tearing on PS3:
"Majority of the time though, platforms are like-for-like - the only variance being in screen tear, which I've yet to measure, but does seem to be more prevalent on PS3 (albeit tough to notice)."

Wow, that PhysX Demo was pretty impressive. Would have written off its significance, but it seems to add quite a bit to a game that is all about flow.

Confused, as from what I have seen, my PS3 looks significantly better than my brothers 360 version of Mirrors Edge.

I have problems beliving in that...

Try it on the same HDTV - be CAUTIOUS as default PS3 version has completly different settings of brightness and saturation than X360 one.
It can be changed in menu to make apple for apple comparison.

Anyway ME is multiplatform game so nothing new that X360 one is slightly/a little/much/extremely better.

Especially that Mirrors Edge runs on Unreal Engine 3. And even Epic couldn't make it run good on PS3 in their UT3...
http://forum.beyond3d.com/showpost.php?p=1234468&postcount=1530
Problems with UE3 showed lately too in that lovely, "Vaseline effect", Bioshock port.

Overall Mirrors Edge doesn't work bad on PS3 - it was hyped as "multiplatform game with leading platform on PS3!11!!" :D so it can't be. ;)

Pity that not not-worse-than-X360-version multiplatform games on PS3 are so rare...

The picture you show shows reduced poly count. Mirror's Edge has a very low poly count already. Do you have evidence Mirror's Edge suffers on PS3 in polys?

I played BioShock on 360 and saw it on PS3. It looked the same on both platforms to me. I don't know what you are talking about with vaseline effect.

Upon watching the clip, I couldn't help but wonder how much better ME could have been if they included a map editor with the game. Imagine sharing your created maps with each other and having a rating system that allows you to find the best maps!

It would have worked well...

Isn't the game Unreal 3 based? I'd imagine once this hits PC, then we'll see a fair few mods for it.

Knowing that they're planning to make sequels off this new franchise, I wonder if the next one is actually going to use EA DICE's Frostbite Engine this time.

with the shortness of the actual game, and the non textured environment, i would have thought this one to be a freebie, you know, a whoops, we know we had some problems, here you go.

Seriously. The shortness of the game was really the only big criticism I had of it. If they had included these trials in the original game I think it would have gotten better reviews.

So wait, do we get the 1 map for free on the PS3 and then the 9 maps for $10 is totall seperate on the PS3 and the 360, or is just that you pay 10 bucks for 9 maps on the 360 and for 10 maps on the PS3.

Basically, do we still have to pay the 10 bucks to get the free PS3 map?
