Wow! I was going to comment way back that Mirrors Edge reminded me a bit of Quake3 trickjumping but I thought it was a bit of a stretch. After seeing this there is no longer any doubt.. sweet!

Only Ludwig would make a Sonic reference in a post about Mirror's Edge. You knucklehead, you.

$10 for something some one developer took a week to make (simple geometry and textures)? What has the world come to?

It's not as simple as it looks. There's more to level design than geometry and textures, especially in a game like this.

But I agree, it is a bit underwhelming.

Meh, they look more like Mario time trial levels than parkour ones. It's about moving fluidly through an existing environment, not one specially designed for your abilities.

What I'd much rather see: a large cityscape with 10 points scattered throughout. You pick any one to begin at and any one for your goal and then are set loose at the starting point with the timer going. No set path, just a general idea of where the finish is.

I need to think everything through before posting. Anyway..

Since this is parkour we're talking about, flipping the starting and ending points doesn't simply mean running the course in reverse. Getting to the top of a building from the bottom is very different from getting to the bottom from the top, and that jump from a higher building to a lower one heading one direction won't work coming back. That alone basically doubles the number of courses available, if the layout is done well.
