Who ya gonna watch? New Ghostbusters trailer and screens materialize

Developer Terminal Reality isn't ruling out the chance that the final holdout from the original Ghostbusters cast, Rick Moranis (Louis Tully), will lend his voice to its upcoming game. Still, he's not present or accounted for in the latest trailer for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC version of Ghostbusters: The Videogame. But oh is it dripping with Ghostbusters vibe like so much ectoplasm.

Atari, the new publisher of this June 2009 title, has also released a handful of new shots from the next-gen and Wii versions of the game. While it doesn't sport nearly the same level of detail as the other versions, we found ourselves unexpectedly pleased by the Real Ghostbusters-esque art direction of the Red Fly developed Wii game when we saw it in action. What do you say: charming, or too kiddie?

After seeing the original trailer from ZootFly a while back, I was really hoping and looking forward to a Ghostbusters game, even more so when all of the original actors signed up for it.

Now, after seeing this trailer, all I can says is that this game looks, and sounds, horrible and disappointing.

nope. you're 100% wrong. this trailer really looks great. it's got the cast. and it has the inside jokes for the true fans. and it has venkman's normal quips. and it looks fantastic.

this game s a must have for me for next year. too bad it's not out till june...

anyways, this game actually looks pretty entertaining/funny. it looks more along the lines of a spin off from the original movies, kind of the ghostbusters 3 that i always wanted and never got. If this performs like a GB3 movie and not some chessy arcade flick...i'll be a big fan.

The wii version fits better, imo, though it certainly could *look* better

I mean, ghostbusters was campy, that was the point. To see it relayed in "serious-vision" crisp realism has a certain disturbing quality to it

crisp realism? I thought the characters looked pretty cartoony myself, and the game world was also excessively bright and colorful.... hardly crisp realism.

i always feel that venkman's shtick works better in juxtaposition to the real world; it's part of what makes it funny. otherwise he's just another looney toon.

also, i'm looking at this as ghostbusters 3, not an episode of the real ghostbusters, so i say the more detail they have the better!

Cartoony Ghostbuster is the way to go. I grew up with this cartoon (and also teenage mutant ninja turtles, thundercats, and many more) and men, playing the Wii version will be a blast to my childhood, just like megaman did (remember the penny arcade comic on this one right)

Did you see the Homebrew Megaman movie trailer? it pretty nice for a movie than will never happen... unlike Ghostbusters 3!

I'm pumped. I don't think this game looks that bad at all.
It's really gonna come down to gameplay. And if that's top notch, then I think this game is going to be great!

Hopefully, if it happens, you can bet the game will stay on the top ten for a couple years. Look at the maraca-less Samba De Amigo that sold pretty bad.

Ok I'm confused... Wasn't there some thoroughly excellent ghostbusters tech demo a little while ago? You know, the one where they were hanging cars from the ceiling of the library with slime? The graphical style of that was *way* *waaay* better than what I'm seeing here... It was like on a Project Offset level... what happened?

So if Rick Moranis (Louis Tully) isn't in the game then who is the guy on the far left at 0:56 seconds in? Also, at 1:07 you can see that there are 5 Ghostbusters in the shot when there were only 4 in the movies. Is the fifth character going to be the player or do we get to take control of the original cast.

Thanks to RealPlayer 11, i've got all 3 of those clips saved to my PC. I've seen them all a million times i swear lol. I just hope that living in Australia, we won't have it banned or reduced in gore or i'll be forced to use Homebrew to circumvent the region coding.

Wow. That looked awful. The graphics looked like sharper last-gen graphics. Yes, the Wii version looked better.

As for the 5 ghostbusters, well, Louis' voice isn't in the game. He, however, is. Just a different voice actor.

Christ almight Wilhelm, do you have anything mature, logical or rational to say....ever? You sound like those people that compare Wii games to Ps1 games. I think time has really blurred how bad Ps1/N64 games look compared to now. If this game was on the N64, it would have been hailed as an impossible graphical masterpiece beyond anyones imagination. Hows about you use your head BEFORE you open your mouth because you look and sound like an idiot. These graphics are far beyond the N64:
