In this case, the "D" in "DS" stands for "dangerous." BBC News reports that the British government is warning parents about the dangers of counterfeit Nintendo DS and DS Lite systems being imported into the UK. According to the BBC, these "fake" handhelds include power adapters prone to catching fire. Well, the DS' codename was Nitro ...
HM Revenue & Customs rep, Claire Merrills, told the BBC that there could be something more sinister going on here than mere crappy adapters errupting into flames. She cautioned parents, saying that "When you buy these goods, you're not funding our economy, you're actually funding criminals in these far off places and it could be linked to terrorism." Yes, she went there.
Her advice for avoiding these knockoff terror devices: Check to make sure they're real. Our advice: If it's half the price of a DS, advertised as "brand new," and called a "Nintando D-Light," pass on it, 'kay? We're dying (not by fire) to see one of these things, actually. UK readers: you have your mission. Pictures in comments if you can find one, por favor.

Yes; a horrible death is only fair in the face of mild consumer ignorance.

it does, if a bunch of dumb ass brits buy their kids fake ds's they deserve the results. they know damn well those ds's are fake. and if they dont, they shouldn't be allowed to have eyes and need to give theirs to a person who's blind that could actually use them

Accidentally thought something was something else?
Sounds like grounds for having your house catch on fire, and then not being able to get out because your eyes were taken from you and given to someone else that could remember which website they were looking at.
Them's the rules, according to Rudolphe.

I was sorely reminded upon seeing this, of the last time I encountered Keith Flint and some photo editing wizardry in the same place:
It was when I created this;

Why oh why do you hate me so, photoshop?

Jeez. Is this what you kids are into now a days? No guitar solos? Or instruments for that matter? :(

well "good" electronic music of any genre still requires talent... and... on top of that... groups like prodigy (or prodigy inspired, Pendulum,) play live sets, complete with the group playing their own instruments to their own songs, which is something of a feat in itself.

I guess two different websites can't report on the same story? Tell that to CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS, AP, BBC, AL Jazeera, The la times, the ny times, the philadelphia inquirer...... so on and so forth.

Wow, Nintendo Wii's also have bromine. "[OMFG]", my local paper warned me, "[You have, like, I .00006% chance of dieing from that shit]." Unfortunately, the only thing my Nintendo Wii is doing to hurt me is not releasing good hardcore games. *sigh*.
***Also, that was a true about the bromine thing. My paper actually warned me that he could kill [if I had] my children. I guess Nintendo is doubly after me :O!!!

Remember: if you cheap out on presents for your kids, they will put you in a cheap nursing home as soon as you show the first signs of weakness.

Are these emulated DS systems or some shitty pop-station things?
And have you noticed that mentioning terrorists is the new Godwin's law? You lose an argument just as quickly mentioning terrorists as you do mentioning Nazis.

I like how she said it "could be" linked to terrorists. I'm going to start using that kind of thinking.

Everyone who's saying 'dumbass brits shouldn't be buying these'. My step-dad bought one for my mum for christmas. As he's not a hardcore gamer like most of you lowlife's are, he didnt know wether it was fake or real. So before you start calling us 'dumbass brits' which is being racist or saying 'you deserve to die for buying knock-off goods'. Just think about what you're going to say as most people have a life, a decent job and a way of living but don't always have the knowledge of technology that you sad sad people do.
