GTA IV 'The Lost and Damned' to premiere at Spike VGAs
In its continuing and unyielding quest for world exclusives, Spike TV is adding another notch to its already pretty well-notched VGA belt with the "world premiere" of "The Lost and Damned," the first of two Xbox 360-exclusive DLC expansions for Grand Theft Auto IV.
There's not much more to glean from this press release – "The Lost and Damned" will provide "new missions that offer an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City with new multiplayer modes, weapons and vehicles; and a diverse soundtrack with additional music" – but we're imagining the actual reveal will be a little more ... revelatory. Find out December 14th at 9PM on Spike TV (or, alternatively, a couple minutes later on Joystiq).

Enough with the stalling joystiq, give us the mother F'n pyod-cast!
If its not here by the time I get my lunch I'm never going to butter McElroys buns again!

Awesome, more weapons, cars, and holy crap, more music!!! Lets hope they throw in more clothes too

Hopefully new radio station content as well. Probably the best part of GTAIV was cruising around and listening to all the hilarious commercials and talk shows.
xFenixKnightx @ Dec 5th 2008 2:46PM
Indeed, some crazy over the top stuff on those stations. And you just know their gonna be using their 250GP allowance. :)
Markez @ Dec 5th 2008 11:11PM
I was surprised, the soundtrack in SR2 is about 1 million times better, yes, I'm pretty sure it was exactly 1 million times better. Talk shows & commericals are still much better in GTAIV.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Dec 5th 2008 2:35PM
Pretty damned excited about this. Hopefully the story and characters are just as good as they were in the main game.

I'm actually more stoked about the video editing capabilities for the PC version. But this'll be cool too. Hopefully they implement grapple.

Why is Spike a place for big game reveals all of a sudden? Gamers don't watch the VGAs for any reason other than to laugh or cringe.
Strike Man @ Dec 5th 2008 2:56PM
The "hardcore gamer" that gets the vast majority of their gaming news from sites like this or various web forums don't comprise the majority of "gamers" that are out there.
The Average Joe, who also plays games every now and then, is likely to be hearing about this expansion for the first time during the VGAs.

Spike targets males 18-33 (somewhere in that region).
You got...
UFC Unleashed
UFC Fight Nights
The Ultimate Fighter
TNA Wrestling
MANSWERS
Etc.
All these shows have HEAVY videogame marketing.

GameTrailers TV and Geoff.
Pip @ Dec 5th 2008 3:02PM
I would have bought this when the game first came out. Don't really care for content for an older game at this point.
Snowblind @ Dec 5th 2008 3:22PM
Then you would have complained the content was just cut from the game.
Readme @ Dec 15th 2008 3:53PM
Will this be the most relevant thing you say today?
ChiTownRuler23 @ Dec 5th 2008 3:42PM
cant wait to see this trailer it'll actually make me watch spike tv for something else besides MANswers.
ronaldhennessy @ Dec 5th 2008 3:42PM
Does it have to be the Spike VGA's? Should I have to endure a classless production that assumes we are all 15-year-old boys? Why can't it be on Rockstar's website or something else? Why?
While I would prefer to see it first online, Strike Man is right about the fact that much of the general public who don't read joystiq every day are out in the black on the info of the GTA DLC.
joeymoto @ Dec 5th 2008 3:55PM
They should rename the DLC:
GTA IV- The general public are lost and damned.

I like many others simply do not like Microsoft (for good reason). I do however like Rockstar and look forward to this most likely great content losing its exclusivity.
GenBanks @ Dec 5th 2008 8:03PM
I want it on PC (dont have a 360), but I'm worried they will try to sell this exclusively through the new Live Marketplace...
Smurfy @ Dec 6th 2008 10:34AM
They sure will.
Dan CiTi @ Dec 5th 2008 8:34PM
Hopefully this isn't shit and it comes to the other versions of the game.
Jason @ Dec 6th 2008 12:30AM
Watching Sons of Anarchy got me pumped for some biker action, so I'll definitely be downloading.
