What exactly is the premise for this? Are you the various victims, having to figure out your way through your "life-affirming" trials? What would basically be a mini-game collection would be a funny counterpoint to the serious tone of the story.

Or are you Jigsaw in a torture-puzzle kind of game where you design these awful traps? That would take a very versatile game engine, and seems like it could be fun given a near-infinite list of possibilities.

The most boring would be being the detectives, since there isn't really much action and it wouldn't really be anything new anyway.

Oh dear god. You just changed my view of this from "No way to possibly be good" to "Holy shit, that could be amazing."

Best thing for this game would be a wii-mote minigame where you simulate sawing through your own leg.

I think playing this game would be about on par with sawing through your own ankle, so they should definitely include that mini-game.

Wii-mote motion controls and Xbox/PS3 quicktime events to saw through your leg and evade crazy traps! I can't wait.

That would turn out into an even lamer version of Night Trap.

This just sounds like an awful game idea to me as well.

It kind of follows that Brash would have been responsible for a game about horrific acts of depraved torture. In point of fact it would be their third such title, after Jumper and Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Yuck. I think they should subject any potential publishers to Saw-esque tortures before they even consider putting out this game. You know, just to prove they're serious.

I wonder if Atari might pick this game up. Because they keep picking up different games and this could be one too.

I don't see what's particularly bad about the idea, honestly (my guess is that most of you don't either and are just parroting what the original post said).

i'd play it, the idea of you setting up torture traps reminds me of Tecmo's Deception; a game I really enjoyed.

I can't see myself buying this.

BUT!

I could consider it if you are the one that build the traps.
Imagine the possibilities!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Saw is a movie for people too fucking dumb to understand Se7en or Silence of the Lambs. Shit like this, not the Wii, is a reason as to why the gaming industry would crash.
