GTA IV, LBP and Home amongst TIME's top picks of the year

Time, the renowned weekly newsmagazine, has named its picks for top 10 games of year. Grand Theft Auto IV takes the top spot, while the only PS3 exclusive to make the list is LittleBigPlanet, which sits at third place. Other PS3 multiplatform titles on the list include Rock Band 2, Dead Space and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (really?). Want to know where those games are ranked and what else made the list? On a related note, the PS3's community-based service Home is number 10 on Time's list of top 10 gadgets of the year. That's this year, 2008. Do the guys at Time know something we don't? Is this an indication that Home will definitely be released this year?

After looking through the rest of their top 10 lists I realized I was wasting my Time.

I had never heard of Braid either, but wikipedia told me what it was :P (platform/puzzle game apparently). And yes, SW:TFU does kinda ruin this list, but so does Dead Space to a lesser extent. Both are fun games, but definitelly not top picks. Where the heck is Fallout 3? MGS4? There are so many games that were far better that didn't make the list.

@ jajaes, grow up! It isn't big or clever to call the PS3 Delaystation 3, anymore than it is to call microsoft micro$oft, or anything along those lines. Its fine to prefer a system for whatever reason, but poking fun at others for their tastes is not. In fact it's essensially the same as racism (no, I do not think it is on a par with it, just the same in basic concept). And if you really want to see an epic fail...just look at your RRODed 360. If that fail isn't epic, I don't know what is!

Braid was a pretty genius game, great art style also. If you got a 360 check it out in the arcade.

Wow I must really be missing out, i've never played a iPhone/iTouch game. But if it offers a better gaming experience than MGS4 then I really need to get me one of these.

I'm sorry because I may be in the minority but i really liked SW:TFU.
Its not a totally unbiased opinion becuase I am a fan and I will admit that the gameplay wasnt stellar but the game has a really good story.

To the poster further up, Braid was really innovative platformer on the Xbox Live Arcade. If you have the ability to, I would seriously recommend trying it out sometime :)

It is not like they worked at IGN or have played alot games to know what quality is...They just brought up a list and sat down and half-assed chose what ever came to their minds when they were not focused on telling everyone about how the Polar Bears are dieing because of 'Global Warming'...That's all..

They made a mistake from the beginning. GTA4 on the top? I'd rather have Gears of War 2 on the top. GTA4 isn't the sh*t but "a" piece of sh*t. AI are dumb.

No wonder "The Force Unleashed" is on there but MGS4. They don't know what good games are. Maybe they rank this by sales or whoever give them most money. Who knows?

The Office and 30 Rock only recieved honorable mention and an episode respectively. Subjective opinions, I know, but certainly not definitive top 10s.

This is sickening. But they obviously must not use actual gameplay reviews rather than number of copies it sold, or was played in the case of the Flash game. But still, this list is completely ridiculous.

Im pretty sure that the only list force unleashed should be on is the bottom ten.

I think that lego star wars was better than force unleashed....
