If you're unable or unwilling to separate the game nods from profanity, our pals at Wambling Gamer are going to walk you through it.
Ludacris is rapping about games for you
87
Ludacris is willing to take the hit for you. He realizes its not cool for you or him to like video games, but frankly he's got the cool to spare, and it's unclear whether you could take the blow to your rep. So, Luda's going to take the hit with Norwegian-exclusive "Press the Start Button" from his new album Theater of the Mind. Not only is he going to rap about games in an effort to legitimize them as an actual cool thing to be into, he's going to rap about every game. This is the H-bomb of social hits, and Ludacris is taking it for you after the break. There are, it should be noted, several bad words.
If you're unable or unwilling to separate the game nods from profanity, our pals at Wambling Gamer are going to walk you through it.

Rap in-general promotes drugs, rape, a view that education is "nerdy", "pimpin', under-age sex (teen pregnancy), gang violence, gangs in general, thug lifestyle, crime, and a shoot now ask questions later attitude. I'll stick with my original assessment of rap culture; a plague.
That said, this song is fun and there are other less negative rap songs out there, but in large, they are degrading and negative.

preference is preference. ludacris is good if you like commercial/gimmick rap. if you like hip hop with a message, purpose and undoubtedly the best lyrics in the industry you need to listen to Technique. That commercial stuff about rims, golds and drugs is for the club kids.
His lyrics: http://www.azlyrics.com/i/immortaltechnique.html
If you have never listened to Tech you need to do yourself a favor and go buy Revolutionary volumes 1 & 2 and The 3rd World mix tape with DJ Green Lantern. He is the only rapper to win a quotable in the Source without a major record deal & has won every free style battle except skribble jam.
Read his bio here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortal_Technique
Read his website here to understand more about his message: http://immortal-technique.com/
He is an advocate for poor people everywhere and a person who did all it himself without a distribution deal or a gimmick. He is already an underground hip hop legend that any real hip hop fans agrees is one of the best and most controversial rappers of all time. He has never and will never sign a major record deal because he refuses to have his message of revolution toned down by record executives.
Here are Tech's lyrics from a song on his first album entitles the prophecy. Nothing Luda has ever done comes close (lyrically) to this one song of many of his lyrical marvels.
So you're the motherf*cker they call....Immortal Technique.
What the f*ck make you so special n!gg@?
Huh... what the f*ck do you do?
I calculate planet alignment like Mayan astronomy
Discovering atrocities worst than Aristotle
Subjecting children to sodomy
Your theory of the galaxy is primitive like Ptolemy
The truth about the universe stuck up like Aztec pottery
Unpredictable results like experimental psychology
I stomp the streets with emcee's beneath my feet in colonies
But presentation and spirit revolve around autonomy
Searching for monogamy
And cutting fake b*tches out of my mind like a lobotomy
So obviously I'm not gonna be here to play games
Walked the top of the world and leave the arctic circle in flames
Battle the beast and false prophet predicted in the King James
I give a fuck about your emcee name I don't admire you
Only by dental records will you be identifiable
Cause the future is not reliable
Remember when rap was not economically viable
Comparable to what motherf*ckers think of me
I might be nobody but wait till I'm together like a symphony
Resounding sound that will continue infinitely
Angel of death punishing all those who live in infamy
And shine so far away from you
You'll never get a glimpse of me
Attempts to extinguish me don't even bother me none
Like retarded kids throwing ice cubes at the sun
A victory against Immortal Technique will never be done
Just degrees of losing it every second your adding one
Some n*ggas dream of pushing kilos but I drop tons
With more facts and formulas and philosophical logic
Then a basement full of scientists puffing on chronic
Dipped in mycin potassium cyanide and liquid bubonic
And use it as a sonic one to find the spawn of the demonic
Screaming like onyx is of absolutely no consequence
The poison is dense enough to clog up your arteries
Mercy is not a part of me
I cause you bodily injury permanently be simply verbally murdering me
Is inconceivable cause of the unbelievable evil injected inside
The blood stream of my people
And redemption is not located under a church steeple
The feeble and the meek in soul just like the technique
Will inherit the earth, But the earth will be weak
Mother earth in her decrepit terminal illness physique
The year three thousand is bleak no happily ever after
Just death following the forth right disaster, a legacy of bastards
With plastic explosives your futures been eroded
Cause you forgot that when your free it's multiplied indefinitely
By the struggle that be the struggle I see
To socialistically united the third world countries
Expose hypocrisy in Americas democracy
Sloppily obsessed with stopping me cause I speak prophecy
Trample and dismantle your capitalist philosophy
The same way I stomp the conquering rap monopoly
And I'm not a f*cking prophet
But that's the f*cking prophecy
I have nothing against Ludacris or any other commerically popular rapper. For me it's not hip hop though its simply commercial rap. It has it's place for going to clubs, parties or just listening to something with good production values. However, Ludacris is far from a lyrical talent or an advocate for anything except his own personal gain. I like his music but it is what it is - commerciap pop-rap.

Um, no. Technique is another jackass with oppositional defiant disorder. There's a theory swirling around the web that he got most of his militancy during his prison term, because he was gang-raped while in prison, and decided to hang with the 'revolutionary' crowd for protection.
The fact that people still convince themselves that they're listening to 'revolutionary music' just makes me laugh. You're no revolutionary, nor is he. He's selling you product, you're buying it and thinking that's somehow changing the system. You are the system. Which is fine. The system serves the vast majority very well, which is the most you can hope from _any_ system.

Stayin' in Iraq indefinitely!
Keepin' the Bush tax cuts!

Keepin' Guantanamo open!
Puttin' Hillary in as Secretary o' State!
Cancelin' his promises of green energy and jobs!

Nah he was one of the many gullible people who saw Obama's skin color and wrote a rapturous song about him. Here are the actual ... ahem ... "lyrics":
"I'm back on it like I just signed my record deal
Yeah the best is here, the Bentley Coup paint is dripping wet, it got sex appeal
Never should have hated
You never should've doubted him
With a slot in the president's iPod Obama shattered 'em
Said I handled his biz and I'm one of his favorite rappers
Well give Luda a special pardon if I'm ever in the slammer
Better yet put him in office, make me your vice president
Hillary hated on you, so that bitch is irrelevant
Jesse talking slick and apologizing for what?
If you said it then you meant it how you want it have a gut!
And all you other politicians trying to hate on my man,
watch us win a majority vote in every state on my man
You can't stop what's bout to happen, we bout to make history
The first black president is destined and it's meant to be
The threats ain't fazing us, the nooses or the jokes
So get off your ass, black people, it's time to get out and vote!
Paint the White House black and I'm sure that's got 'em terrified
McCain don't belong in any chair unless he's paralyzed
Yeah I said it cause Bush is mentally handicapped
Ball up all of his speeches and I throw 'em like candy wrap
'cause what you talking I hear nothing even relevant
and you the worst of all 43 presidents
Get out and vote or the end will be near
The world is ready for change because Obama is here!
'cause Obama is here
The world is ready for change because Obama is here!"

When has Luda ever been good at anything? Maybe when he had that small part in Crash which just happened to win best picture. His music has always sucked though. Always. If you have a legitimate argument against my observation, you're more than welcome to post it. But its true. His beats aren't "hot" at all. They're simplistic loops that he pulled out of the studio's server. He's like Soulja boi, no talent at all when it comes to hip hop or rap. There's a reason why Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West and 50 cent are nominated for Grammys and Luda never has. Oh yeah, this song is terrible. The only reason I posted this is because someone just happened to give me an op to express my disdain for Luda and soulja boi. Oh! T.I. is good too.
