Looks like amazon.com is continue their video game sale frenzy. Today, you pick up the popular PS3 multiplayer game, Warhawk, for only $10. That's pretty sweet!
What i heard is the quality of the cable itself is one difference, and the size of your screen, if you got like 60" and up you should probably spend a little more....
Actually, expensive HDMI cables can make a difference, but only over long distances, because the longer the cable, the more prone to interferance, so high quality cable would allow
(oops, accidentally added the comment too early *blush* is there any way to delete/edit your own comments?) Anyway, expensive HDMI cables can make a difference, but only over long distances. The longer the cable, the more prone to interferance, and the poorer quality the cable, generally the more prone to interferance, so high quality cable would allow longer distances before the interferance starts breaking up the picture.
As an electronic engineer, the quality of the cable DOES make a difference.
The signal isn't transmitted through the cable like most people think. It's actually the electric field that surrounds the cable that carries the message. This means it can be screwed up by something called 'stray capacitance' from other electronic devices. This happens most at the interface between the cable and socket. More expensive cables protect against this by localising the electric field.
Also, yes, the thing is digital. That doesn't mean it isn't analogue. Everything is analogue underneath. Digital pulses are made of a series of superposed analogue signals. Look up something called the "Fourier transform" and you might understand what a spectrum is. Distortion in some frequency components could leave the bit distorted down to the level where it is not detected.
Definitely. There are still thousands playing it daily and the expansion packs have kept it fresh. Nothing rules harder than flying in a jet pack and owning a Warhawk headed for you with a rocket launcher.
This for $10 is a steal, and $10 for Ridge Racer isn't too bad either, I really enjoyed that game at launch. It's a nice arcadey racer.
The deals were limited by game quantity. Heavenly Sword and Eternal Sonata are still up, the other two have sold out at the $10 price (no big shocker there)
i was thinking about warhawk for a while, but after i saw some vids of it, it just never interested me. now if heavenly sword was $10....really, that game felt too short for even 30 bucks. i nearly beat it on a rental one time. i hope i can get it sometime for a cheap(er) price
I picked up the Resistance 2 CE from Amazon yesterday for 59.96, a whole 3 cents cheaper than the regular version, with free shipping. Don't know if that's still available, but just figured I'd throw it out there in case it is.
