Still mad at Harmonix.... now with a full investment of GTWT complete band kit, the only way Rock Band can change my mind is 100% compatibility.

I haven't been paying attention...can someone remind me why we are mad at Harmonix? I'm getting Guitar Hero World Tour for Christmas. Is there something I should know about either game?

Thanks

We're mad at Harmonix because they gimped the hell out of RB 1, saying that online and DLC wasn't possible on Wii. Then Activision showed them what's up. But now that RB 2 is fully featured, should the grunge continue?

I'm still looking forward to it. As I said before in the referring old post about the January date, the "Rock Band Store" (rockbandstore.com), according to HMX, is just another retailer (not owned my them). I'm not giving up hope for the December release since that is what HMX's official announcement said: December.

I'm probably not going to be able to get it as a gift for Christmas since people have told me they're done shopping for me. I'll live with getting it myself the day after if that's the case.

Good choice. I've had Rock Band 2 for a while now (and RB1 before it) on my PS3, and I decided to go for the $60 GHWT Guitar Bundle on Amazon.com the other day; it arrived earlier today and . . .

. . . already put the thing up for sale. Can't stand the style and presentation of that game, I don't know why. I loved Guitar Hero 3, and I had that one for the Wii. Rock Band 2 just seems soooo much better than WT.

Also, what the hell is up with the indicators in that game? On RB, it's VERY easy to see your overdrive ("star power") meter, and it's easy to see when you're beginning to screw up and your chart starts flashing red. On GHWT, you're somehow supposed to keep track of this stuff on a tiny meter at the top left. Yeah it does start flashing red when you're about to fail . . . about a second before you FAIL. Speaking of which, failing out a song just because one person screws up is also annoying as hell, and the character styles in the game suck (my opinion of course).

Yeah, I hope Harmonix does it right when they release RB2 for the Wii -- it's definitely the better game.

I'm looking forward to getting the disc only version and playing with my GHWT and GHIII guitars and mic. (A friend of mine has the drum kit from the GHWT package we split; he already had 2 GHIII guitars and a mic from some other game.)

I'm going to wait and see how the DLC _really_ shakes out, though. I'm still mad about not getting track packs on GHWT. I'm not sure who to be mad at, though: Activision, Nintendo, or the copyright holders. Hopefully, that situation will get fixed soon.

Do we have any clear indications of Wii controller compatability yet? I have GHIII and GHWT full band kit. Will the GHWT drums & guitar work with RB2?

Why be mad at Harmonix? RB1 was awful, but it looks like they've learned their lesson. I have 2 GH3 controllers, and the compatibility thing sealed the deal for me. RB2's setlist is better if you're not a Tool fan or an emo kid, and the Wii gets all the old RB1 DLC that the other systems got. The Who track pack = do want.

Harmonix for the win all the way around this generation.

Nothing against my Wii, I still love it to death....but I'm getting a 360 for Christmas and when I eventually get Rock Band in the near future, it will be for that. Even if they are adding DLC its not worth the mess of SD cards that it'll take to store it all.
