I have enjoyed playing SSDP for the brief time that I have had it. I really enjoy the Arcade Mode, but I haven't really played around with the Impact Mode too much yet. This will probably keep me busy for a while (I have yet to clear the first planet).

As far as additional modes of gameplay, I would probably buy them as long as they were released in a pack (all additional modes in one download) for $9.99 or less. I'd probably be more inclined to download new worlds, though.

You would pay more than 3 bucks for some modes that are in all likelihood inside the game to be unlocked for a portable? Damn.

Still debating picking this up, personally.

yeah one thing that i didn't realize was the difficulty. you have to be pretty careful when you play otherwise its game over fast. once you get the hang of the level, its pretty easy. its so addicting and it looks beautiful. i wouldn't mind paying for more modes just because it would still be cheaper than a lot of shovelware.

I'm all for games I can purchase and download and I'm even down to purchase later expansions if they look decent and I'm enjoying the game.

DLC that expands on a good game is one thing...
But frankly in my book this amounts to crippleware.

Definite thanks for the heads up with the PSP store accessible from my PSP now I was seriously thinking about picking up a title or two to stem the tides of boredom but I can say with little hesitation this game is off my list.

dude, I sincerely advise you to reconsider. The game is almost indescribably magnificent. If pay-for extra content is not your thing then I can assure you that what you get for the base price is not only well worth the price, it's a ton of fun and you might not ever even consider the extra stuff when it becomes available. But if you wind up loving the game, I'm sure you'd be more than happy to fork over for more of it. It's really awesome.

Its not that I think the game itself won't be fun Its that I don't agree what the company(s) are doing. As such I'm either going to wait till I can purchase the "full" game and at this point probably several price drops.

I'm all for useful DLC but I'm in no way interested in what is obviously crippleware (not to mention the implication that said modes are included in the original purchase)

So I'm obtaining at this point as a matter of principal much like my boycott of EA titles (Several of which I would love to go out and buy but I refuse to purchase or play them based on the conduct of EA)

nope not for me...This is just one of those games that should have had this stuff to begin with and maybe adding a story mode wouldn't be so bad either, but again I hate DLC because it's usually a waste of money if you think about it. Why should I have to pay for stuff that should have been in the game to begin with. Yoda for PS3 is just stupid how is that exclusive if someone else can get it. It makes little sense to me, but i guess that's how money is made these days. I just hope that stuff like this becomes free like gears of war maps, things that should have been in the game but were added later on for free. I guess that's one reason why i love Gears. Seriously though who here enjoys paying for additional content that later has them thinking this should have been in the game when I bought it. Anyways that just me opinion.

SSP is simply the best $10.00 I have a ever spend on a PSN game - it is terrific, both in terms of game play, graphics, soundtrack.

I'm not sure why its so suprising that there will be additional download content - the companie's website has been reporting that for quite some time.

Quite frankly, I'm happy spending any amount of money for the new game modes - Endless is going to be great when it comes out! Hopefully soon.

It's because the additional content is content that even the promo text says is in the $10 download, when it clearly isn't.

I'd hate if they made us pay for additional content they SAID WAS IN THE GAME. Anyway, it's a really good psp port other then that.

That sounds pretty cool, if only I could DL the dame game! I keep getting error messages whether I try with my PSP, my PC, or my PS3...

This was one of those PSP titles where the system needs a second analogue stick. Playing with the symbol buttons really threw me off. It's still a quality title but I tried the HD version on a PS3 once and really need to save up for one in the new year.

I have to admit I'm a bit of an Xbot but I can tell Sony Store downloads are more quality over quantity in comparison to XBLA and their poor "community games".

It's a great game. It's extremely suited for quick pick and play sessions. However, it grows old quickly (after 5 hours for me). If only they added more enemies, it would've been excellent, but I'm not really complaining. Asteroid-busting is immensely satisfying. I especially like that the hi-score is displayed as you play so that you can see if you break it.

As to the downloadable content, of course I believe any downloadable content for any game should be free regardless of the original price. So I'm not supporting this.

To #9, well that's an interesting point. And I guess it depends where you looked for the information. For example, the PSN store from the PSP where I bought the game from - it does NOT say anything about the extra game modes being available. In fact, the only place that does is the main playstation website - not the PSN store as accessed from the PSP. I wonder what it says when accessing the game info through the PS3?

I bought this game based on what the storefront said and was very disappointing when half the advertised content wasn't included. I called up Sony and they changed the wording and then refused to give me a refund stating that they could advertise whatever the hell they want to get me to buy their product but once I make the purchase that purchase is FINAL regardless of the situation.
