damn, this is the first time Ive actually noticed how expensive the full albums are. Why would they expect anyone to pay more than the actual cd? I realize Im not a hardcore Rockband/Guitar Hero fan, but even they must see how much of a rip off it is.

Because actual people put actual time into making the songs something that's playable in the game... Did you think they just come from the label, ready to go?

You're right, it is expensive. But, $20 is still cheaper than if you bought all the songs individually at $2 each. I went ahead and bought the full album because there were enough songs on it that I liked to make it more economical to just pay the full $20 and get a couple extra songs I might not like as much as the others.

Besides they're charging $20 because they know people will pay it. Look at the "premium themes." Those are more than $3 each for what, a background? And people still pay for those.

They have fair prices for the smaller albums too.

£5 for Peace Sells or £7 for Moving Pictures is pretty acceptable to me.

Man, I'm notoriously cheap, but I didn't waste a second before I snagged The Colour and the Shape for RB.

I've been singing those songs in my car for ten years now, and $20 to be able to faux-play the best rock album released in the '90s with my friends wasn't even an issue. I won't even say that I wished I waited for this price decrease.

a) That's what she said

and

b) Premium Themes are slightly more then backgrounds. I've never bought any though. The Rareware one is already amazing enough for me.

Let's say I pay $1 to buy a song on iTunes. Once that song is on my computer, I am not able to plug in a four instrument themed controllers to rock out to said song (either online or off)

I bought TCatS as an album for $13. It was worth it, excellent music to listen to. I was more than willing to pay the additional $7 to have the ability to PLAY the songs.

@ oolz
your joking right? You think programmers who map out clicks on a fake guitar/drum/etc., deserve to charge more than the actual band when you buy a cd? Im not knocking someone who buys it, whatever floats your boat, and Im sure if they came out siwth something i considered a must own, I would gladly get raped in the wallet for it. (any full rage against the machine album please!)

You're not just paying the devs, you're helping cover licensing fees too.

It's the fact that you have to pay the license fee to the artist, plus the developers, plus Microsoft/Sony for distributing it. Since the license fees are about equal to that of iTunes, it makes sense that they need to cost a little bit more to cover the developer salaries and end up making profit.

I'm glad we all - including the Foos - know the proper spelling of colour.

Hahaha the spelling of "colour" was done on purpose by Dave Grohl as a "wink" to the producer of the album, who was a UK native.

This album is hands-down one of my favorites. Coming in at number two is In your honour :D

... hence my comment.

Anyways, this album is the only one of the Foos worth owning. But it's fantastic!

Awesome. I've been debating which to get first between this, the Nirvana pack, and Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Looks like I'll be getting this first.
