I heard you could download it and burn it to a DVD-R and play it without a modded 360?

Yes you can, but your 360 doesn't have to be modded.

You may want to check mediafire...

"play it without a modded 360?"

"360 doesn't have to be modded."

So, about that modding...

Yes, you can get it burned to either a DVD or CD (I burned it to a CD) and I've been playing it for a week.

I found some solid info on how at NeoGaf. Around page 13 of the thread, they provide a link where to download .rar files and how to burn it to disk.

As someone who never played RE4, the controls took a good while to get used to, but I absolutely love the demo. Chris has some powerful melee attacks but Sheva's are much prettier.

I just can't get used to playing her on the right side of the screen after playing Gears, Mass Effect, etc. I know it's the same amount of covered screen, but I just feel like I can't see anything.

I'll definately be playing as Chris only until I can get more accustomed to the controls. Took me a while to realize you could move things like hand grenades to your d-pad so you didn't have to manuall equip them each time. Makes life much easier.

It might also run from a flash drive. Anyone test it?

@ Tiptup

For some odd reason, the flash drive thing doesn't work. I tried back when the Ninja Gaiden II demo was region locked, and no dice then either.

I could never get into the RE storyline. Mostly due to the horrible voice acting. And secondly due to the horrible controls.

Clearly you haven't played RE4. It revolutionized the way we play 3rd person adventure games (see Uncharted, Gears, Dark Sector).

@Goku (aka Ska Chips Ahoy!)

I didn't care for the Resident Evil games either, until I heard all the buzz about RE4 after it came out. I have to say, I like that game a lot. Once I got comfortable with the controls, I went back and played the original PS1 games, and I grew to like them too.

@NaeemTHM

Good call, sir. Don't forget Dead Space, which is a really good game, IMHO.

Yeah, but the cheesy voice acting gave it so much charm! I can practically recite RE3 by heart.

...and yet, if that had been an in-game cut scene in any Resident Evil, the motion capture would be hideously awkward, and the voice-acting for the military officer would have likely been done by Macho-Man Randy Savage while Chris would have sounded like a perpetually confused preteen boy.

Then again, I really shouldn't rip on Capcom cutscenes and voice acting when I am so loving of another undead-killin franchise with some *uh* sketchy voice acting.

"What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets."

God I love it though. Such charm...

Spoiler alert would be nice. They just ruined the end of the game! Now we know that Chris lives and that stuff is scary.

Lame.

Can't wait for this game. RE4 was definitely a milestone and I fully expect this game to live up to its standards.

Can't believe they're still trying to play the "scary" card with this franchise, as it's anything but that.

I played the Japenese demo on my non-modded 360 and it was fun, but I can't help but say that I felt more on the constant defensive which didn't seem to be as fun as RE4 was. In RE4, it was more of a mix of defense and offense. I had more fun being the aggressor and trying to stay alive rather than just trying to stand my ground til the demo ended. Hopefully this is representative of the full game :/

People don't understand Resident Evil anymore. They're making these games for a new audience of gamers. What was scary back in '96 would not appeal to people nowadays, the flock of zombie crows that break thought the windows for example. They've replaced the "fear" with suspense. I've played the demo for RE5 and the part where the chainsaw guy chases after you, while not particularly scary, got my heart pumping.
