We know a lot of you like nothing more than digging through an intentionally inscrutable website for marketing material, so consider this a public service: Capcom has launched an new viral site for Resident Evil 5 for you to explore at your leisure.
Word of the site was passed around through creepy emails that featured only the web address and the message "It came from Kijuju." about 100 times. Happy hunting, and let us know what you find. Oh, and after the jump, you'll find a really well-produced, live-action clip that's somehow tied to the campaign.
Yes, you can get it burned to either a DVD or CD (I burned it to a CD) and I've been playing it for a week.
I found some solid info on how at NeoGaf. Around page 13 of the thread, they provide a link where to download .rar files and how to burn it to disk.
As someone who never played RE4, the controls took a good while to get used to, but I absolutely love the demo. Chris has some powerful melee attacks but Sheva's are much prettier.
I just can't get used to playing her on the right side of the screen after playing Gears, Mass Effect, etc. I know it's the same amount of covered screen, but I just feel like I can't see anything.
I'll definately be playing as Chris only until I can get more accustomed to the controls. Took me a while to realize you could move things like hand grenades to your d-pad so you didn't have to manuall equip them each time. Makes life much easier.
I didn't care for the Resident Evil games either, until I heard all the buzz about RE4 after it came out. I have to say, I like that game a lot. Once I got comfortable with the controls, I went back and played the original PS1 games, and I grew to like them too.

Good call, sir. Don't forget Dead Space, which is a really good game, IMHO.
...and yet, if that had been an in-game cut scene in any Resident Evil, the motion capture would be hideously awkward, and the voice-acting for the military officer would have likely been done by Macho-Man Randy Savage while Chris would have sounded like a perpetually confused preteen boy.
Then again, I really shouldn't rip on Capcom cutscenes and voice acting when I am so loving of another undead-killin franchise with some *uh* sketchy voice acting.

I played the Japenese demo on my non-modded 360 and it was fun, but I can't help but say that I felt more on the constant defensive which didn't seem to be as fun as RE4 was. In RE4, it was more of a mix of defense and offense. I had more fun being the aggressor and trying to stay alive rather than just trying to stand my ground til the demo ended. Hopefully this is representative of the full game :/
People don't understand Resident Evil anymore. They're making these games for a new audience of gamers. What was scary back in '96 would not appeal to people nowadays, the flock of zombie crows that break thought the windows for example. They've replaced the "fear" with suspense. I've played the demo for RE5 and the part where the chainsaw guy chases after you, while not particularly scary, got my heart pumping.
