That just made my day. I needed a good way to get into the Christmas spirit.

Too late. I already heard the best thing I'm going to hear today.

This is just some nerd-o shit as far as I'm concerned.

Way to pick out the two worst bands on there. I'm surprised you didn't go for an easier target like Death Cab. I'd probably still rather listen to Vampire Weekend than some bleeps and bloops that aren't accompanying my game of Castlevania.

I recommend that Fleet Foxes album. If you like that, you should also check out the Dodos, or if you're interested in more folksy folk music, but still with a twist, check out the Avett Brothers.

Love me some Avett Bros. I have that Fleet Foxes album too, but haven't really listened to it so much. I'll have to dig in before the year is out.

Fleet Foxes are really good, but my tops on that list are Bon Iver and TV on the Radio. Two of my favorites this year.

If you can generalize everything here as "nerd-o shit" than by all means I can cite the two worst bands on your list.

I'll take chiptunes over twee, navel-gazing, indie-pop pablum any day.

Since you don't enjoy game culture, not sure what you're doing on this site.

I've always been a fan of Trash80 (the guy who did the title track for Darwinia), so this should be right up my alley.

By the way, Trash80 gives away all his work for free (under a creative commons license) at his website - if you like chip tunes, check it out.

Oh great, now you're gonna have to find 8-bit Chanukah and Kwanzaa music, before everyone gets out of control...

These are allright, but honestly I much prefer Mafialligator's "A Very 8-bit Christmas" (Volumes 1-3 avail to download).

'For free' is another modern bastardisation of the English language.

Something is either 'free', or 'for nothing'.

Looks like we overloaded their servers... (at least, I'm getting an error message when I try the link.)

Anyone want to re-upload it somewhere?

@ Lee, nice.
Anyway, I downloaded these this morning and have been listening to them all day. I can't get enough. I personally enjoy Carol of the Belmonts.

And if it was 8-bit Mohammad, there would be massive protests.

Everyone is equal, but some people are more equal than others.

What the hell? Ok, I'm assuming you don't celebrate Christmas. That's fine. But why even bring it where you just brought it? Maybe if Islam came out with some "Islam-mas" songs, and Islam was the major religion in this country, people would create 8-bit versions of them too. Get off your P.C.-highhorse. Just because the majority of people in America have a reason to celebrate and you don't doesn't mean you have to get butt-hurt about it.

Sorry, I know this is a gaming blog. Isanox started it.

It's not considered offensive in Christianity to display a picture of their god...try and learn a little before you talk.
