Activision's Prototype site breaks, spills some assets on web
Prototype, better known as Crackdown + The Matrix + Superman seems to have a busted website that confronts you with an age gate, and then gives up all of its secrets like the wimpy kid during recess. It appears that these are images and videos they are assembling for a presentation at CES in January, but Happy Holidaze! You get it a few weeks early.
Check out the new images from the game in the gallery below, and there are four new videos waiting for you after the break. Just hurry and do it now before someone comes to their senses and flips the switch. Either this is a brilliant marketing ploy, or someone's asleep at the keyboard.

Dear God that game looks fun.
Markez @ Dec 10th 2008 12:33AM
Agreed. First thought was 'whoa balls' watching that. Looks pretty craaazy.
Again, whoa balls.
Strategy_Panda (the artist formally known as Titanium_Orchid) @ Dec 10th 2008 1:17AM
yea, I wasn't interested in this game until now
Markez @ Dec 10th 2008 1:25AM
Yeah right, you're just interested because I am, copier guy.
Poisoned Al @ Dec 10th 2008 12:24AM
A faster paced Crackdown?
YES PLEASE!
Wulile @ Dec 10th 2008 2:29AM
I'm kinda missing the Crackdown comparison though... Don't get me wrong, I loved CD but it was like jump, shoot, jump, throw stuff, repeat till blood lust is quenched. This look like you can do WAY more stuff!!!
Erluti @ Dec 10th 2008 9:22AM
@Wulile
How does it not look like an amped up Crackdown? All those videos were basically improved ways to jump, shoot, and throw stuff.
Arttemis @ Dec 10th 2008 1:28PM
I'm still disappointed that multiplayer was cut.
SyChO @ Dec 11th 2008 10:20PM
I second that!!!!!!!!
Brian @ Dec 10th 2008 12:33AM
Um, what?
GIMME.
Trulz @ Dec 10th 2008 12:33AM
I completely forgot about this game. Looks awesome.
Matt Ferens @ Dec 10th 2008 12:34AM
You'd think someone would fix this up real quick.
Bagels PSN:WolfLogic @ Dec 10th 2008 12:40AM
Am I the only one who feels sorry that their effort and work isn't accompanied by the element of surprise they wanted once they were ready to release this material?
WRE @ Dec 10th 2008 1:58AM
Yes.
Levi @ Dec 10th 2008 9:13PM
I agree that too much about games is given away before they come out. A game should have enough cool shit to show off a little bit and leave the rest to when you actually play through it.
I'd be wow'ed by this game a bit more if I didn't have the unquenchable desire to watch game trailers..
Giroro @ Dec 10th 2008 12:47AM
Whoever was naming the clips must have been very bored.
"chopper go boom"
heh. boom.
Ellianth @ Dec 10th 2008 12:48AM
I've seen all these videos before. A much longer version of all of those. I dunno where I saw it though. Maybe someone else is experiencing deja vu while watching this video and can tell me where i saw it.
WiseGuy @ Dec 10th 2008 12:49AM
Fake leak.
Only that folder happens to have the wrong privileges set? ;)
The one folder that is "open to the public" just so happens to contain handy media files? ;)
The truly telling tale is that the folder contents is too neat - no random files.
Tez @ Dec 10th 2008 1:53AM
Yup. A neat way to 'leak' out new assets, though.
ExMcCloud @ Dec 10th 2008 12:56AM
Damn that games looks fun...Me want so bad...Also I want to see Crackdown 2...I'd like a decent Sandbox game besides GTA
memot @ Dec 10th 2008 12:56AM
It's weird because i just discovered this game like half an hour ago. And i'm loving it.

ThornedVenom (Harley Quinn Defense Force) @ Dec 10th 2008 1:32AM
For some reason, it reminds me of Hancock, except that now he can eat people up to steal their appearance.
Brian @ Dec 10th 2008 2:40AM
I was thinking the same thing after seeing the guy flying & landing.
That neck breaking soul eating camouflage 'yoink was tight.
Mister Servo @ Dec 10th 2008 1:45AM
Damn, that stealth consume freaked me the hell out.
jonbo298 @ Dec 10th 2008 3:21AM
Same here. Had me saying "wut?"
Giroro @ Dec 10th 2008 2:04AM
The website is a countdown right now . . . 29 days until 'relaunch'
Zorink @ Dec 10th 2008 2:09AM
Did he just use a wrestling move against a tank?
Levi @ Dec 10th 2008 2:20PM
Your right. It looks like he gave a flying "The Peoples Elbow" to a tank.
Deck @ Dec 10th 2008 2:15AM
This for sure looks good.
The fast paced is awesome too. Can't wait to see more substantial content regarding it!
Nadril @ Dec 10th 2008 2:45AM
Damn, I had no idea about this game until now.
Looks fucking amazing.
Gehodra @ Dec 10th 2008 3:28AM
Hmmm...
The body just disappears when you do that stealth thing? People walking by don't notice?
And am I gonna be doing those same moves to the tanks over and over?
Reader @ Dec 10th 2008 4:45AM
Well, looks like people noticed. Woman was running from him at least, though it's realistic that the military unit wouldn't have known for at least a few minutes.
Ethan @ Dec 10th 2008 7:27AM
Less grunting.
AwesomeTown @ Dec 10th 2008 7:37AM
Just awesome.
Oh and easily a marketing ploy, and also I need to get Crackdown.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Dec 10th 2008 8:02AM
Holy shit that game looks fucking fun as hell.
therpham @ Dec 10th 2008 8:34AM
This looks like it might be even more fun than Crackdown if they do it right. I want to glide off of buildings!
Danzaiver @ Dec 10th 2008 8:43AM
This looks like Hancock on drugs. Cool!
Blazur @ Dec 10th 2008 9:07AM
Oh yeah...I forgot about this game. It had potential from what I remember seeing.
umm....hello??? @ Dec 10th 2008 9:10AM
reminds me of that awful movie with Will Smith in it...oh yeah....HANCOCK.
Mike @ Dec 10th 2008 10:35AM
I have been waiting for this game for years! I have been trying to keep up with it but then i just gave up because i thought they cancelled it.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Dec 10th 2008 10:19AM
It still doesn;t have multiplayer though. Looks fun otherwise.
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Dec 10th 2008 12:13PM
On a side note - Semicolons are the new apostrophe, tell your friends!
The Dark Wayne @ Dec 10th 2008 10:53AM
oh thank God, I've been waiting for this game ever since they announced it in GI. It looks so damn awesome. I was really worried it was never gonna come out
IceKXG @ Dec 10th 2008 1:00PM
isn't this game being made by the same studio that made Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction? That game was sweet, and this game looks just as good!
Dominic @ Dec 10th 2008 1:21PM
Yes, this is by the Hulk: UD team, and it looks like the gameplay is going to be much the same but with one big difference:
They're not being held back by a comic lisence this time. You can pretty much wreck everything and kill everyone. Oh, and much cooler powers that go beyond being large and green.
The superpowers look great, and it looks like you reach Hulk-like levels of toughness and strength later on. They're already showed that you can crush tanks with an elbow drop.
This is basically the sequel to Hulk: UD that we never officially got.
j.howlett @ Dec 10th 2008 2:17PM
i'm still excited for this
Levi @ Dec 10th 2008 2:29PM
Y'know, I'm currently playing Crackdown for the first time, and I feel like the developers looked to Hulk Ultimate Destruction for gameplay inspiration. Is it any coincidence that Hulk UD was made by the same people who are making Prototype?
Roxxorsmash @ Dec 10th 2008 2:55PM
Good, I was afraid development was cut or something after it went so long without releasing any information.
