No no, it isn't at all. It's only an abbreviation. Sorry if "racial slur" means something bad. English it's not my first language so I didn't know :\

i hate how "jap" is associated with a racial slur. I never mean anything condescending about it i just dont like typing Japanese, its a long word. so is JP ok to say or not? damn political correctness.

Don't you watch It's Always Sunny? It's all about context! Not knowing how to spell Japanese isn't a racial slur. Good grief. PC needs to die a fiery death.

I beg to differ that this cannot be resolved by some ambitious folks. You could easily find a jp proxy server and just redirect all your Live traffic through that

Sometimes I wish XBOX 360 was owned by Sony, at least then we'd have Region Free Systems and the ability to download demos FROM ANY MARKETPLACE

That isn't true. Sony locks content out of specific regions too. As does Nintendo.

if XBOX 360 was owned by Sony, you would have hardly any Exclusive titles & most games would get delayed!

not to mention the over promising & under-delivering.

Actually, basically every PS3 game(I havn't seen one that doesn't) is region free. Also every demo off the PSN market place is region free.

Only thing that gives you troubles is you can't use an American credit card to purchase stuff over JP PSN.

The xbox 360 by nature is Region - Free, problem though is most games are not mostly by mandate. While Sony doesn't really monitor it Microsoft does. That and they try to block people from other market places whereas Sony does not seem to care.

The Wii is the worst offender on every level though, especially with Capcom v. Takumuchi coming out I could almost cry that the Wii is not region free.

Seriously, the demo is in English, why not just go ahead and release it to the marketplace? M$ is all about promoting their games, what better way to promote an upcoming game? I'm just glad I got to play it on live before this mess...

Just to be picky, I don't think the demo is in English - I think it's just got localised language options in it so it'll run in your current dashboard language. Set it to German, it'll run in German etc.

I don't have the demo though, so I wouldn't know.

@UK

That might be how the demo's menus and such work perhaps. But the VA is all in English in the Japanese version, which it has been since the beginning of the RE series.

Also, all the menus are in flawless english, so I don't see why they didn't put this on XBLMP. Makes me sad that they blocked it though. D=

You wouldnt get banned, download it through rapidshare and burn it to a cdr. I'm not sure where it would fall under piracy laws, but it is free content and you arent modding your console to need to play it so there is no way the banhammer would drop on this.

I thought from reading that, that MS had disabled co op for everyone...
I'm sure there's a way to track where your console is made for.. I'd happily wait for the demo, it'll be co op anyway for me.. that may be the saving feature for me, after I found RE4 dull and could barely tolerate the dumb girl, I even used to shoot her myself for being a waste of time...

I don't see why they can't just give it to everyone, it makes no sense what so ever not to.

The demo is good, it's in english, it works fine and it's good publicity - why the hell do capcom/Microsoft want it held back?

Doesn't make any sense to me.

As much as I don't like it either, before everyone starts calling it a Microsoft only problem keep in mind this is a high profile multiplatform release and Microsoft may have only had the rights to make the demo available in one region. They don't just put things up on their own, Capcom gave them the demo exclusively and we do not know the terms of that agreement.

This isn't a MS wants to screw you over thing.

As rediculously stupid as the whole releasing it in one region bull crap is, I can understand why they did it that way from a buisness stand point. They are catering to Japan because that is a large market where sony is alot more popular and has better cred. and xbox already has north america in it's palm so this just another way to try to gain some momentum in japan.

M$ is full of it and I really hate them. Just let the people play the damn demo. I love that Sony doesnt do this crap and they dont care if you have more than one account. If i paid my money for a 360 and I paid for live i should be able to play what I want.

you don't have to right to play what you want, when you want on Xbox Live. you agreed to a set of Terms and & Conditions when you connected to the service, specifically forbidding you from playing out-of-region content, among other things. you should have paid better attention.

whether that is "fair" or "good" for gamers is entirely irrelevant. you agreed to the rules. if you don't like them, don't agree to them. people like you are what make gaming communities fail and make online play frustrating.

so, you're the one who is full of it.

todays news seems to have brought out the cheap, whining baby crowd: we'll get the demo eventually, for now just relax, breathe and stfu while your at it.

since when did m$ need protection from its own fanboys? and why is this my job damnit? i aint gettin paid for this isht, yet.

What's wrong with microsoft and capcom why only release it in japan. I played the demo and online with a friend and its awsome. The demo is very short, doesn't give any story info I don't see what the big deal is here! I live in the US by the way. lol

Yes indeed, starting the demo while connected to Live will now disable it completely, even if you subsequently try to play while disconnected.

oh yeah and also, i was able to play with japenese players when i was messing with it, 90% of the time i tried to join a game it would be a japan account and wouldnt let me connect, but every time i hosted a game someone from the usa would join and it would work perfectly, so there definately are people in japan playing.

just to clarify: when you say "ban" do you mean b& with disciplinary actions (aka cant sign on for a week or cant sign on again ever) or "banned" as in you get disconnected from Live and can reconnect as soon as you leave the demo with no consequences?

its totaly wrong the thing they did is deleting the demo from your console and set a regin lock on the demo no bans @ all and btw there are no torrents needed just download it from the japanese market place by creating a japanese account whit 1 month free xbox-live byfor ya guys say crap look good

They already "fixed" that, you can no longer just create a Japanese account and get it. You must download the torrent, but even then now you can't sign online or else they well disable the demo. They are going through ALOT of hassle to keep people from play, this effort should be put into the game making it better.

i dont know why the fuck you are all mad, they will release it in america soon enough, people find a way around the region and get locked out and then are pissed off? grow the fuck up, its like when people get banned from live for modding and get pissed.

game still works fine for me, just have to sign out of live and then play, maybe you guys should get some friends and a bigger tv and you can play with 2 people.
