PSA: Scoop up Home closed beta items while you can

PlayStation Home will finally open to the masses tomorrow, and so will its revamped shops, featuring clothing, furniture, and decor from various real-world partners. But what about all the stuff that's available now to closed beta participants? We suggest you grab it while you can.
We have it on good word that some (if not all) of the items currently available to "purchase" – and thus outfit your avatar and personal space with – will not be available in the Home Open Beta. They will still appear and be accessible tomorrow to those who grabbed them in time. So, buy now ... or pay (with regret) later.

does that mean all avatars will start naked?
Brett from Atlanta @ Dec 10th 2008 7:11PM
OK guys need help on this one. Here's the sitch. I'm a college student that has his last final tomorrow morning. My PS3 complete with home beta is at my parents house (didn't want it anywhere near me during finals). I can be back at my parents house tomorrow afternoon. Will I have time to grab all of this stuff tomorrow before the open beta goes up? If the open beta goes up with the regular PSN update I should be ok. Does anyone know when they will cutoff getting the free stuff tomorrow?

"Fuck it, I'm skipping my exam" +3 virtual fashion
"No! My education is more important" +3 intelligence

Early in the morning.
Brett from Atlanta @ Dec 10th 2008 8:48PM
Problem solved, I called my little brother and told him to buy everything possible. I'm looking forward to decorating my new summer home.

-1 for using the asinine phrase "the sitch"
Just no.
kaneda @ Dec 11th 2008 9:23AM
Here is a solution. Just kill yourself and spend the money on the funeral.
Brett from Atlanta @ Dec 11th 2008 6:05PM
@ kaneda.
Why don't you go fuck yourself and save the money you'd spend on a prostitute :)
j.howlett @ Dec 10th 2008 7:13PM
i already grabbed everything when they went up in the mall. even those horrible jeans
ice~ @ Dec 10th 2008 7:25PM
Anyone know what time (EST) the beta will be up for download?
alessar @ Dec 10th 2008 10:03PM
It's going down from 5-7am eastern tomorrow according to the message of the day. I'd think you should be able to grab it from the PSN as soon as the usual Thursday update is completed.
ice~ @ Dec 10th 2008 10:09PM
sweet I'll download it b4 school, thanks
arkweld @ Dec 10th 2008 7:35PM
Grab everything? Well that shouldn't take long considering there's barely anything in the closed beta stores.
Woo a cowboy hat and dull colored T shirt! A horrible grey sofa! An origami dog!
j.howlett @ Dec 10th 2008 7:49PM
don't forget about the rubber duck. i got one for my summer home, that i also got at the mall
Strategy_Panda (the artist formally known as Titanium_Orchid) @ Dec 10th 2008 8:02PM
the origami dog is my favourite, then the jet model.
Riveting right?
alessar @ Dec 10th 2008 10:01PM
There's also the summer home and some furniture for it. When I got in closed beta they had nothing at all in the mall, so I'm happy to get a few things. And the house seems pretty nice!
arkweld @ Dec 10th 2008 11:00PM
Yeah, rubber duck is the highlight. I was going to fill my Summer Home with rubber ducks but I lost interest in adding furniture after 5 minutes of moving each piece v e r y s l o w l y.

The Aggie CEO @ Dec 10th 2008 11:56PM

Strategy_Panda (the artist formally known as Titanium_Orchid) @ Dec 10th 2008 8:01PM
The items they are offering seem like all the downloadable things available in the previous versions of the beta... am I missing the super awesome shops?
NickB @ Dec 10th 2008 8:58PM
Yeah, I've been in the closed beta for a couple weeks, and I never found anything to 'buy'... None of the stores were accessible...?
DrunkRaba @ Dec 10th 2008 9:24PM
They are all open except for the "Home Stuff" store in the mall and have been for a few days. Get everything for free before it is for pay.
Strategy_Panda (the artist formally known as Titanium_Orchid) @ Dec 10th 2008 9:24PM
they closed the stores for the latest beta wave. They're all open not though
Strategy_Panda (the artist formally known as Titanium_Orchid) @ Dec 10th 2008 9:26PM
*now
"Get everything for free before it is for pay."
I have a feeling the stuff they are offering now will always be free. It seems like the "starter pack" for new Home users
pezzer @ Dec 10th 2008 8:44PM
why not free =(
Dan CiTi @ Dec 10th 2008 10:40PM
Home is never coming out.
Autopsy15 @ Dec 10th 2008 11:30PM
Of course this has to be said once per Home article.
Rudolphe @ Dec 11th 2008 1:54AM
Home is never coming out.
Fooshnip @ Dec 11th 2008 2:00AM
just got in yesterday....a lot more fun than i was expecting...yeah it's just hanging out and talking to people while doing some task (i.e. bowling) but easy way to meet new people and time just flies if youre involved in some activity rather than just walking around.
Ben @ Dec 11th 2008 1:44PM
Soooo.... where is it?
"Lettuce_boy08" @ Dec 12th 2008 8:36AM
Man if only I got chosen to have the closed beta...but then again, like someone else said on this list of comments...Its like a couple of chairs, a black sofa and some dog thing and other crap lol. Oh and some small amount of clothes =\
tbh, i wouldnt worry about it (everyone that doesnt own the closed beta) because in the near future they will release free stuff anyway. Oh yeah, does anybody know about trophies and how they will unlock free stuff too?
