Well actually, the slowness of achieving anything is voluntary, everything else can be accessed faster through the XMB. But I'm sure you'll still find people willing to play it, it's not best suited for everyone, but then what is? Saying only certain people will like Home is the same thing as saying only certain people will like playing Uncharted or Killzone etc.

Home isn't a game, but it is there, and to some it could be considered fun like any game, and other not so much, just the same way games we buy are fun to some and not others.

What home needs is like second life an outside or inside concert plaza for virtual live gigs, events and such, it would be a great meeting place and a great reason for me to stop my gaming if I've bought virtual tickets.

Besides, owning Sony Music Productions, whats stopping them, plus they have all those gaming, movie and music award ceremonies, those could take place in that concert plaza as well.

Cool idea! Be sure to tell Sony about it in the beta feedback. They listen and if they like it who knows? So many things are now possible with this service. I am curious as to how extensive the redisign of the Home Square will be.

In my opinion, the only feature Home doesn't have, and that it really needs is the ability for small groups to create public spaces. That way, people from the Joystiq community (for example) could meet up.

I understand why they might not want to do that, from a legal standpoint, but it would still be nice to have.

Also, I saw this post go up this morning and rolled my eyes because I was expecting a lot of the same generic Home bashing. Frankly I'm pretty surprised that hasn't really happened yet.

You could always do that with your room :S You can get custom content right? If so, decorate it to be a Joystiq lounge and invite the sheep in :D

Home Clubs do the now. In the open beta starting a club will not be free, and the existing ones in the closed beta will dissappear.

hmm, I never knew about the clubs. The closest thing to them that I knew about were the developer sponsored spaces, and those got shut down when the latest beta was released (at least they were gone on the first day). I'll be interesting is seeing how the clubs turn out.

@Maverick

From what I remember from the beta, you needed to invite people in to your home... or it was not always open. I am thinking of a space similar to the Uncharted themed environment. It was open all the time

there is a joystiq club but you have to join. i'm not to sure i'd want to go to a public space for joystiq where people are standing around saying how bored they are and how stupid they think it is being there

Joystiq isn't exactly a 'small group.' All sorts of companies can create public spaces (like Red Bull is doing). It isn't a stretch to think we could see a Joystiq Space or a G4/Xplay Space that anyone can go into.
