Ready, Set, Squint: Really small Final Fantasy Versus XIII gameplay screens

As it has come to be with any Final Fantasy game, all we've witnessed of Final Fantasy Versus XIII thus far has been CGI footage in trailer format. While we're definitely a long ways off from actual game footage, Square-Enix's CLOUD Message book does contain some teeny-tiny, itsy-bitsy in-game screens.

As our Home boys at PS3 Fanboy have pointed out, this image from the book also contains some Final Fantasy XIII artwork; most notably, illustrations of its characters, one of which has been blurred out, presumably to prevent a premature reveal. That, or they're wearing an Xbox 360 T-Shirt.

I do believe that's a worldmap I'm seeing for Versus. Nice.

Nomura did say that Versus contains many 'traditional Final Fantasy' elements, and I guess a worldmap is one of them.

Hopefully this game turns out good, if so I'll be buying a new PS3 (as long as it doesn't get put on the 360 as well).

Yeah I don't know what I'm gonna do if this game turns out to be must have. With my recent RPG addiction I've been reading up a lot about previous Final Fantasies as well seeing nay bits and scraps that are out there on the web about this game and the main XIII title.

I hope it's ported to the 360 for my own selfish reasons. I just don't want to give sony my money this generation at all. But if it turns out to be exclusive and it is bundled with a ps3 at a decent price point I may have no choice but to get it.

It won't be out until 2010 in the West, same as FF XIII.

I'd imagine the PS3 would have had a price cut or two by then...

I imagine it will come to the 360, eventually. If XIII does well on the Xbox, I don't see why they wouldn't do it, unless Sony have managed to nab some kind of exclusivity (in which case why didn't they get the main game?). But the 360 will definitely have to wait for this one.

Sorta off topic but what do we know about Agito? Is that still for cellphones or is it for the PSP?

And I think SE is really trying hard with this game and the main FFXIII game to come back to the forefront and regain some respect. I fully expect this game to be legendary.

Originally for cell phones, but they realized that cell phones weren't advancing at the rate that they had liked, so they changed it to PSP.

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii don't see any videos. Just a buncha weird ass characters that Mozilla doesn't want to convert to Japanese or something. No videos tho. Any clues?

Man, every time I see something that says Final Fantasy Versus I get all excited thinking about games like "Final Fantasy Versus Capcom" or "Final Fantasy Versus Smash Bros.". Then I realize what it's actually talking about and I get a little less excited...
